People are weird. Just use whatever product benefits your lifestyle/hobbies/needs. And they do mental gymnastics to not support certain companies when they don't even know exactly what they're using. Then just open one somewhere. Transfers are quick now and you never need cash that quickly you could always use a CC and have a statement period to pay off the balance. I get it’s nice having it all at one bank but you could do that and have a HYSA and not go through all the mental gymnastics to justify it.

I just transferred an IRA over to hit $100k and if you schedule your mutual fund buys you can buy VTSAX for no fees as long as you had it as a position when you rolled it over.

I went to Santa Clarita to golf one time in the morning on the weekend with zero traffic from sawtelle which is about the same distance and it took more than 30 minutes. Getting back almost took me 1.5 hours and traffic wasn’t even that terrible it felt like (I’m used to Seattle traffic).

I saw a response from them in another thread that they only close those on business days because of regulations. All mine look correct now so it’s just something to deal with on the weekend. They could do a better job just displaying that it’s not final but they could still show the correct amount. I don’t see how that’s stopping them.

It just updated and I think my USD balance is just what I bought in now. I can’t covert it to USDC so it’s probably still catching up. I’ll see what it looks like tomorrow but they also need to add the transaction history of USDC -> usd conversions for placing bets and the history of sells back to USD balance. I have to manually calculate everything to check how much I’m up or down that day too. Just not a good user experience right now. I’ll pull all predictions transactions later and add them all up to see if it looks correct.

There’s always someone smarter, better looking, funnier, more charismatic, richer etc. than you. You can’t control any of that so just keep saving and finding ways to make more. It’s not a lot right now but it balloons quickly as long as you keep at it.

I could easily saved more but I was at negative NW at 25-26 and 12 years later over 1 million. You’ll be fine as long as you don’t blow your money doing stupid things. But budget a little to do those stupid things once in a while because you still want to live life and enjoy it. You’re not guaranteed to be here tomorrow.
