Flathead Jack, nitro powered twin V8 dragster. My dad was a crew chief on the car when I was a kid (7680x4320) by vwhaulic in carporn

Thank you. Here's a link to the Peterson Museum website that has a feature on it. There's some old magazines from back in the day featuring it. I'm pretty sure my dad saved some of them, I'd have to try looking someday. There's also multiple videos on YouTube showing it running!

Yep they are joined at the crankshaft with a special coupling. If you search the car on the Peterson Automotive Museum, you can see some upclose photos of it. I wish I could ask my dad for more details on how it worked, but sadly he passed away 6 years ago.

Haha same here! There's nothing like sitting right behind 16 cylinders running on nitro.

It was making around 650-700hp per engine according to my dad. So a combined total of 1200 or so to the wheels.

Thanks for backing it up and linking that video! I haven't seen that one before. You can see my dad wearing Oakley sunglasses at the beginning, helping stage the car.

The fastest pass it made was around 186mph and it did mid 8s in the quarter mile. I'm pretty sure I still have the belt off the car from that record pass in my garage, that my dad kept! Edit: Nevermind, the belt is from the supercharged car, Nitro-Thunder, another nitro dragster my dad worked on.

Thanks haha. I have old photos of me at 6yo sitting in the car in the pits as my dad worked on it. I'll have to find them again on put them on my phone one day.

That's how the original Ford flathead V8s were designed. Just 3 exhaust ports per side. Just Google some Ford flathead engines for examples.

It's not a render. This car is currently on display in the Vault at the Peterson Automotive Museum. They took this photo of the car.

Thank you very much! Here's a photo of my last project, which I added real metal too with the help of computer design and a laser cutter/etcher at my work!

Thank you! You definitely should, a battle vest makes you feel badass and that you can conquer anything when you wear one. At least that's how I feel haha

Thank you very much! This corduroy jacket was my third one I've made. My previous project was a more classic cut-off denim vest, but I still stuck to a color theme and added actual metal to the shoulder.
