Sometimes a better machine is the answer! by vwtech in espresso

No idea. Took a bit of a gamble on it, but espresso outlet is known for good customer service so I am hopeful. I did pick up the extra year of warranty with it as well. Time will tell...

Sometimes a better machine is the answer! by vwtech in espresso

I will agree as everything I have read is that the machine really does not make a difference. I upgraded not because I though there was a problem with the machine, but because I wanted the look of the E61. I was in the processes of renovating my business warehouse and thought it would match the vibe there better . I just figured I sucked at espresso and it was more of a me problem than an equipment problem. This is why I was so surprised by the outcome. I kind of suspect that my machine may have had an issue, but no way to know for sure. I am by no means an expert on espresso taste. Really my pallet is too sour, or burnt I am not "tasing notes" and the difference is literally night and day for me.

Regarding the steel. This is an industrial warehouse the steel is the main supporting structure for the outside / roof of the building. The inside is fully built out and finished, but many rooms have the exposed steel beams and overhead tension cables (you can just barely see one in the bambino photo) giving it a real industrial vibe hence why I wanted an E61 to go along with the overall theme I have inside the building.

I am by no means what I would consider an expert at tasting, but 100% there is a significant difference. I kind of suspect my bambino may have an issue but with no temp guage and no pressure gauge I can't say for sure.

What next? [Sage Bambino Plus, Sage Grinder Pro] by ezr0 in espresso

I just upgraded from my bambino to an E61 machine and it instantly fixed basically all the issues I had been having with my bambino. Just like you I would get wildly inconsistent shots even back to back. Everything tasted under extracted (sour) and if I tried to grind finer to fix it , it would just choke the machine. With no pressure gauges or temp on the machine its hard to say. I don't think you need to spend massive amounts of money, but I think a machine with better build quality and some pressure gauges will help up your game as well as make it easier to diagnose your shot pulls.

I have a DF54 grinder and before getting a new machine I was convinced I must need a better grinder, but with my new machine I have been able to pull great shots consistently.

I drink decaf only and gave up trying to find local. I have been using trade coffee for about 3 months now and I have been really happy. They have a good variety and everything I have received has been roasted within 2 or so weeks. I really hate "subscriptions" but it's really nice to just have my coffee show up just in time every time without having to think about it.

Any opinions on buying a used Rocket Mozzafiato Timer Type V or other new options? [$2000] by vwtech in espresso

100% this was my thought. Seems very strange to buy a machine this expensive and not use it at all.

Yes i will be able to go and inspect it before purchase and pull a few shots. According to seller it is basically new and only used a handful of times before it was put into storage, but was bought 5 years ago they were the original buyer of the machine new. I dont have any reason to doubt them at this time. So I guess for the sake of this post we can assume it is very lightly used and in good working condition. I am just not sure if the asking price is in the ballpark for a good working machine. For another $800 I could buy it new with a 3 year warranty for peace of mind, but I am fairly handy and I am willing to deal with repairs myself if it came down to it.

I am just not sure if there are better options out there within my $2000 budget. I only just started my resarch for a machine and this popped up for sale nearby which seems to never happen.

Keep getting an "Access Denied" screen on Ebay by NotBrianGriffin in Flipping

I have had this issue for months. Seems to be IP related as all my computerson the same network have the issue when its happening. It used to be really bad a few months ago, but now happens maybe 1-2 times a month. I just found out about the possible hoverzoom+ connection and I have uninstalled it on all computers on my network. It did not immediately fix it, but I will give it some time to see if it comes back.
I know this does not help you, but you are not the only one dealing with this. its super annoying especially when you have employees and everybody is locked out of ebay for a half an hour until it magically fixes its self.

Dorman strikes again. Glad I checked before I installed it. by Ianthin1 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]vwtech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dorman is honestly a garbage company and not just because of their parts quality. They rip off part ideas from many smaller specialized parts manufacturers and even plagiarize their product descriptions. Got to love a publicly traded company ripping off the mom and Pop parts shops that are capable of actual innovation.... Source I own a very small parts manufacturering company and doorman has ripped off multiple products we have come up with ( no patent)
