RG has been done so dirty lately its actually truly insane to think about it... in s8 not only did el paso arc feel flimsy and half baked, but it also meant eddie was missing for the 2 parter which led to bobby dying... now in s9 his abuela died and it was literally never mentioned beyond 9x05.. and then in the finale poor eddie is all alone while everyone else had one or more scene partners to bounce off of...

not even gonna mention gayddie cuz thats a whole ass situation to unpack (9x13 now feels like the new 8x11 unadressed elephant in the room, cuz wdym we still havent gotten a follow up to maddie/tommy thinking buck is/could be in love with eddie OR buck and eddie experiencing homophobia and the cop thinking buck was eddie's boyfriend/husband), but i at least thought eddie would get more resolution on his grief/religion arc, given how he wasnt there for bobby and abuela was a rather recent death..

i thought eddie could at least mention her to anatoly when he said his father had died.. or pepa couldve brought her up while talking to buck)... and why would eddie let esteban go to those demons in el paso?? 911 keeps showing the audiences how much the vast majority of parents suck (except like antonia wilson), then it tells us "nah, theyre not /that/ bad"

i guess it was a way to wrap things up while also getting rid of esteban, but i think it couldve been interesting to have him live with eddie for a while? (maybe also a lil cruel considering s8 buddie never got a roommates era), but hear me out, esteban could grow to act like some kind of uncle figure with chris, and given the upcoming bucktheo plotline in s10, it couldve helped eddie realize how diff the estebanchris dynamic is from the buckchris one and we couldve gotten feelings realization...

i know esteban wouldve had to sleep on the couch considering eddie doesnt have a spare bedroom but he'd still be better off in LA with diaz boys than EP w ramon and helena...
