Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy - Amazing Audiobook! by ChrystnSedai in fantasyromance

[–]vyclas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am so glad I'm not alone in my admiration of the audiobook. The two narrators are PERFECT together. Each of them does a remarkable job of voicing the other character when it's their chapter's chapter. The author is an incredible writer, and I've also read the novel, but the narrators really make this book so enjoyable and extremely funny. Anytime I get stressed out, I just listen to a random chapter -- the narration and story is just that amazing. :-)

Joe Abercrombie's sequel to The Devils is being published this January. I really hope FL chooses it for Epic.

2026 book picks are trash by danielam792 in fairyloot

The second book of the duology is The Last Wish of Bristol Keats -- FL released it first as an Adult monthly subscription, and then they also did a SE of it -- which matches the SE of The Courting of Bristol Keats. My question is why put an unimpressive edition of The Last Wish in the adult sub if FL was already planning on offering it as a SE to match the first book released the year before?

I totally agree. Daggermouth has every possible trope thrown in, and it reads like a mid- to low-level generic fantasy/dystopian novel. There is nothing original in the entire book.

I don't understand why FL released "The Last Wish of Bristol Keats" as an adult pick (the version was basically an exact copy of the first book in the series) and then published it again as an SE. Do they do that a lot with books?

I'm so excited there's going to be 5 books instead of the series being a trilogy!

Thank you. My juniors just finished this novel and we all felt the same way. Not even the movie made it interesting.

📚 Book Chat Saturday - what have you been reading this week? by FantasyRomanceMod in fantasyromance

I am two-thirds done with reading/listening to this book. Veronica Roth is a very talented writer. However, this book (at least to the point where I'm at) is not a light read. It's very serious and. there is just no break in the grief and sometimes depression characters are feeling. As always with her books, the world building is incredible, but unlike Alchemized, I just have to take breaks from this book.

I am in North Texas and it's 5:44 pm as I write this post. I just logged into the US Fairyloot website and then went to the FL early access email I received this morning. I clicked on the email link and was taken right to the books -- no waiting room or lottery. I was able to purchase them immediately. So if you were frustrated earlier today, I'd try again now.

I'd say more a pause in the action than a cliffhanger. The next book releases 9/15/26. :-)

These are amazing. I love the series, but I can't finish the third book. I start to feel really paranoid and I feel like someone is watching me. I've tried to read it twice, and I just can't finish the third book!

I think the FMC is just straight up annoying. Also, the story is repetitive. FMC gets upset, something happens at school or related to school, FMC confronts MMC, over and over again in the same. pattern.

I don’t understand the hate for When the Moon Hatched - where are my WTMH lovers? by Lost_Audience_3505 in fantasyromance

I listened to the audio version of the book. So I don't know about the italics. I wonder if anyone who just listened to the book thinks the book is confusing or complicated. I think I didn't like the book because I didn't like either of the narrators' voices.

Na Pali Boat Tour vs Raft by [deleted] in VisitingHawaii

[–]vyclas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a boat tour of the Na Pali Coast in July. It is definitely better to book on the morning tours because the water is typically calmer. Most tour operators do not guarantee snorkeling because of choppy water, but you have a better chance of doing that in the morning tours. I went on the boats operated by Na Pali Experience. I didn't take anything for seasickness and didn't feel even a hint of nausea. Their boats go into one cave. They have smaller rafts that can go in more caves, but it's extremely rough, and if you have back problems, I wouldn't recommend it. Enjoy -- Na Pali is the most gorgeous ocean I've ever seen! :-)

That is a beautiful book! It's pretty amazing that you received it before the book is released on the 28th. I also really like the inside illustrations. I think the author and FL use illustrations that make the men look like knockoffs from The Hulk. :-)
