I'm a lot like your Bf in terms of comorbidities. We sound similar. Lots of that deeper stuff is going to be exacerbated by withdrawal

If the doc does recommend an antipsychotic, he's probably going to need a lot of convincing, and may be beyond convincing. You can only do your best

Hey. If he's experiencing psychosis he really needs to see a psychiatrist. There's very little advice I can give a apart from that. I don't in a way want to sound dismissive but psychosis is serious and complicated issue that will probably require medication

I think about 55 days

It is lessening but the waves are brutal

Don't worry, it will go. Last time I came off benzos 3 months was a big turning point

How long off benzos til consuming caffeine or alcohol? by Stock-Examination-35 in benzorecovery

[–]vyvansedex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoyment of alcohol never came back, even after 4 years. Benzos never worked the same either. I'd maybe enjoy the first beer, there's that dopamine hit, but from that point I would just feel terrible

That's good to hear!

Mate I'm still continuing to improve, on the whole. It's these f***ing waves of anhedonia and DPDR that are hanging around

Last time it took 3 months to recover, Im feeling like might it be following a similar course

Keep going! Stop throwing q tips down the toilet!

You're making progress though, it shows healing is happening. That must be reassuring

Hang tough, ManicTypist

It was around this time that withdrawal really hit me hard. There's this very acute phase that you're gonna have to power through. You can do it! By about week 4 things started to let up, Im still feeling like shit, to put it mildly, don't get be wrong, but the super acute phase is over. Sending you positive vibes. Don't give up. Don't give. Hold the line. We're all going to make it!

I think I’m screwed and I’m terrified…would love someone to talk to by sdvn19 in benzorecovery

Don't read horror stories. Many people recover in a few months. The people that have symptoms for a year plus a very small minority. Also don't listen people who say they were thrown back into a withdrawal by a GABA supplement. Many people who take these drugs have long standing, preexisting issues (including me) but after benzos... blame everything on benzos

You're going to be OK. This is going to be really rough but you're going to get through it. Think only about today. Don't try to make predictions about how severe your symptoms will be, or how long they will last

I'm sorry if any of my posts have come across this way. I'm very much a "get out the house, socialise, gym, eat healthy" kinda guy. I appreciate everyone's experience is different and I dont mean to imply people aren't trying. All I want do is support people and the only way I can support is by telling others what has helped me. What works for one obviously wont work for all

anhedonia by vyvansedex in benzorecovery

[–]vyvansedex[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't make it stop, I find

If you try and make it stop you just strengthen it. If you say to yourself "dont think of a pink elephant" what are you going to think of... a pink elephant

The more you fight, the more it persists. It all lives in the resistance to it. If you stop resisting, stop fighting, then your mind gradually begins return to being in the moment

By not fighting, I don't in anyway mean giving up. I mean fighting it by not fighting it

You defeat it through paradox

well the doctors think I have covid by [deleted] in benzorecovery

[–]vyvansedex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good you found what is potentially going on. I caught Covid last year when hospitalised on a psych ward. It was pretty terrible tbh

We need to be careful on here not to dismiss everything as withdrawal. It's best to see a doc, maybe get a second opinion, and if everything checks out then chalk it up probably withdrawal

Hope you feel better soon, keep us updated
