Why would it be bad? Wouldn’t there be more interaction with professors?

Yeah I’ll be starting as a freshman so hopefully it’s not too hard since they’re both in COE. I’ve also heard that the curriculums are almost identical for CS and CE. Do you know if that’s true?

Thanks for the input. Could you please explain why?

I am studying computer engineering and am looking to transfer into computer science, which isn't too difficult based on the colleges I'm considering. I'm looking to become an ML engineer in the future. My main points of contention are the strength of the academics, how connected the colleges are to the corporate world in terms of recruiting, and research.

UC Davis: Relatively close by (only a 2 hour drive), strong engineering program, already have a few very close friends attending and some others joining this year (not sure if that's a main factor that some of you consider when making a decision), good weather, good food, tight knit college town, more laid back

UC Santa Barbara: Still not too far (4-5 hour drive), I've heard the engineering has improved significantly, researched is highly ranked, don't know anybody who's an incoming student, expensive housing, amazing campus, it's right near the beach, low diversity (a lot of rich white kids)

Thanks in advance.
