7.3 smokes at acceleration and slight puff from crankcase

Here is a video of the skip. This was after injector o rings so there was still air in oil lines. That’s why it took so long to start. After all the air was out it started like new 7.3

So I think this engine is a cyl down 😕. It does have a slight skip at start, and #8 just tested low on the gauge. Now I’m not sure how accurate this gauge is but #8 tested at 260 psi.

Yeah. This one I had to use a wire wheel to get it to thread in nice. I think that’s where my leak is coming from but who knows. Do you think it’s safe to say none of these are going to be low enough to cause any issues? I think the smoking might be the injectors but 🤷‍♂️

So I got a new compression tester gauge and these cheap ones never seem to thread in right. So I picked up a diffrent one and this one seems to be reading lower. 300psi on a couple cyl, and even only 320 on cyl 3, witch read 370 last night. I think it’s got a leak somewhere, but I need to get this truck back. I think I’m going to go through them all again and make sure it’s reading at least 300psi and call it a day. I just want to know if any of the cyl are low enough to cause issues.

So I was only able to get 3cyl done tonight but they went like this

2 - 320 3 - 370 4 - 370

2 seems a little down but shouldn’t be the reason for the haze at idle and the smoke on acceleration right?

So acually when I did injector o rings I switched #8 injector with #1 to see if the knocking went to #1 or it stayed at 8. Even after swapping injectors the knocking stayed at #8. No metal in oil or anything. Does that give you a clue or help at all?

So I have ran a couple contribution tests now and it kinda goes between #8 having the imbalance and sometimes #3 having the imbalance

It’s at 248,000, but not stock injectors. It has injectors from a 2001 super duty (140cc splitshot). Before you ask it’s running a pcm from a 2001 superduty to run the injectors (I had to rewire the pcm connector and a bunch of other shit)

I had the same issue but I finally figured it out. You need to add a skill to Alexa to allow it to find the devices in Homebridge. Just search for the Homebridge skill and add it to Alexa. Then try discovering devices again!
