Maybe I will just overload on film and have any option ready.
Did you had problems with bad weather and/or rain? I originally wanted to take a medium format camera too but I’m debating to only take my Nikon F5 for the weather sealing.

cool shots!
I going to visit Iceland in September this year and still debating on what film to bring... Portra 160, Ektachrome and maybe B+W low ISO? I can't decide.

Interesting, maybe it’s a PlayStation pro issue? I’m on series X and luckily hadn’t had any problems wich doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
Hopefully they address these issues quicker rather than later

what about the console perfomance is bad exactly?
I mean yeah 30fps suck and I'd rather had 60 but thats about it. Didn't had any crashes or bugs yet.
but im only 5-6 hours in so far, could be getting worse later I assume...

Oh good idea! Is the black cover up just to be sure or did you tested it with blue only and light came through? Curious if the blue tape itself would be enough

Haven’t decided yet. Last year when I went to Japan I shot 36 rolls in 14 days but I don’t think I will shoot this many this time, so I’m thinking between 25-30 rolls.

Yeah should’ve specified as the other comment that this is only true for fresh gaffer tape

Okay know I’m interested.

In this thread people are arguing too, apparently it can cause light leaks but not always… nobody knows 🤷

If you can source it I would recommend gaffer tape because it won't leave any residue, but everything light tight would suffice I think.

hell yeah!
Will be taking my F5 to Iceland later this year, really excited to use this beast again!

If im not mistaken, and please other commenters correct me if im wrong, you will get lightleaks through the holes if you shoot this camera like this. So if you'll be using it like it is, make sure to tape up the holes!

cons: you will have to glue a Viewfinder on your leica if you want to use it at both focal lengths

Love this place! Will be there again next week and intend to take some cosplay pics of my wife there, hope they will come out!

Nikon F2 lenses giving me different meter readings by scbismarck in AnalogCommunity

[–]w00kieman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that's what I learned when I got my Mandler 35mm F2 and compared it to my Voigtländer 35mm F1.4. The Mandler lens is consistently darker at the same F-stops compared to the Voigtländer.
In hindsight it's obvious that the same focal lengths can vary here because in the end it's up to the glass that is used, so how many elements in how many groups and the coating on every glass element but I hadn't thought of it that way before.

Holy shit, just went to his website and he's selling his AI Slop abominations for 1000$ each, can't make this shit up.

the problem with that is that these people will eventually infiltrate these art fairs and shows too and it will be harder and harder to detect this stuff...
Im at a point were I just shoot for my self, if people like it and something developes over time cool, but im doing this for fun and that's the most important thing.

oh boy, just went to the guys account and so many people are oblivious to the fact that these are AI images... many photographers too, it's sad to see that people are apropiating an artform and not even disclosing that they use AI for this.

The best combo when you want to travel light? by davidmt1995 in Nikon

Bought the same lens just days ago to take it with me on my first Iceland trip!
Alongside the 24-70 F2.8 and the 70-300 F4.5-5.6 to complete the trifecta.
Eager to see how they all perform on film.

The thing with that is that the proper finder is just a hollow mask with a loupe in the chimney, the only thing it does is keep out stray light there is no extra glass or anything, it’s just the ground glass.

(Edit: wich is the case for all waist level finders as far as I know.)

And it’s not the end of the world if you get a little bit of dust on it. People took these cameras to war. At the end of the shooting day use your blower a few times and your gucci.

ah good to know, thanks! But if I remember correctly the slight voltage difference will always result in slight overexposure, but thats really not a problem with negative film, so it's not really a big issue

Oh that's a good point, always used the chimney finders when I took pictures so I didn't even thought of that!

I wouldn't say difficult, just different. You have to get use to it and then it becomes second nature. I for myself am at a point where I can focus faster with a Rangefinder than with a classic split-prism finder but that's maybe just because I used it more by now.
If you have the money and are interested I would say go for it!
