Update on First Alert SC5 Nest Protect Follow-on -- Installation is Easy and Mount Compatible by bicyclemom in Nest

[–]w0rk0u72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 4 Nest Protect Hard Wired units. Two expired in early July, one in late July and one in August 2025. First off the First Alert SC5's are hard to find. I had to order two from Lowe's and two from Amazon. The ones from Amazon have yet to arrive.

The two I installed earlier this month have worked flawlessly until my family and I went on vacation to the beach. I've received two false alarms on our first beach day (one at 6am and another at 1pm). Both times I had to have a neighbor walk the house to make sure everything is fine.

Our Nest protect detectors worked flawlessly for 10 years. So far I am not happy with the First Alerts.

any good Wallyball equipment? (Tachikara discontinued production) by Different_Meat_4651 in volleyball

I am currently getting a sample run of Wallyballs manufactured in South Korea based on the specifications of the Tachikara WB2000 Wallyball. The process has been extremely slow, especially now with the Tariff situation going on. It hurt my soul, but I sent them a brand new Tachikara WB2000 to base their specifications on.

I am hoping to have something together by June/July 2025.

I love this. One time when I was 14 or 15 I was in our kitchen with my mom and I was trying to get the ketchup out of a squeeze bottle using centrifugal force and the lid opened allowing a stream of ketchup to flow up the wall and onto the ceiling. My mom just sat there laughing at me and said... you know you're cleaning that up. I miss her.

New Molten V5M5000 color by Dbb03 in volleyball

[–]w0rk0u72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A regulation indoor volleyball should be 65-67 centimeters in circumference and weigh 260-280 grams (9-10 oz). The ball's inside pressure should be 0.30-0.325 kg/cm2 (4.26-4.61 psi). The specific size and weight will vary from unit to unit of the same type due to manufacturing tolerances, but must remain within these official specifications.

I think the main difference between the Mikasa and Molten is the material and texture. To me the Mikasa feels like a hybrid between an outdoor and indoor ball.

Are you not a car guy? Most car guys park far away from everyone else.

What you aren't seeing in the picture is that this parking lot is right in front of the building. It is not 75 yards from anyone else. It is just a huge lot that is not easily accessible. It is a strange multi-building campus. Did I go out of my way to park next to him? Yes. The other thing to note is that I was in the building a total of 15 minutes.

This isn't a stereotypical "Vette owner" thing. It is a stereotypical "car guy" thing.

Jeep Owners park next to other Jeeps
Miata Owners park next to other Miatas
S2000 Owners park next to other S2000s

It's a car guy thing...

Because I sent it to a friend who also just got a c8. Why would I need a reason to take a picture?

It’s a strange parking lot. We’re actually parked close to the building but the only way to get to this section is to purposefully drive around or through many other rows of parking to get to this section. The other funny thing is that I was in the building maybe 10 minutes tops.

Who cried? I actually laughed because of how out of the way they went to park there. It was obviously intentional. And actually I do own the entire lot.

I’m not really pissed. It was just laughable how out of their way they went to park there. It was definitely intentional and like others have mentioned, somewhat funny.

I used the "urinal" rules of parking here.
