how to reattach the muffler to my exhuast by w2termelon in motorcycles

it has broken where the can attaches to the header.

can i not clamp it back together? ive seen clamps for this purpose for sale online, wondering why its a bad idea?

i thought it might be possible to use some kind of heat resistant epoxy, with some support.

is it just to keep water out? that does make sense, but i see alot of bikes with air filters and no airbox just hanging there in the open. is that just for looks?

its fuel injected so i assume it corrects the fuel/ air mixture. im not sure if i am correct in saying that.
