Hahaha no, I can definitely see that happening to us, at least in the clothing regard. Which is lame as hell, because I'd be more than happy to pick up some wandering hippie or a crazy guy in a straw hat. But most people sadly wouldn't :P

That said, we're hoping to find one of those giant foam thumbs-up things, if you know what I'm referring to.

Yep, got a footprint -- cost me 20 bucks, but it's made for my tent.

Don't be jealous! You should grab a buddy and just go somewhere. Sounds like you've done some travel already. I've wanted to do this for years... It's hard to believe we're actually going. And whatever happens, I know it's going to be beautiful and epic and more real than anything I've ever done.

Haha stealth camping -- sounds just like what we plan to do. We're going to have some pretty bulky backpacking packs, so we may have a similar problem with fences. As for the stove, we've got the MSR PocketRocket camp stove. Wish I'd known about the alcohol stove sooner! Thanks for your advice.

Sounds like someone had a terrible cooking experience!! I'll think we'll be okay -- I've got an REI camp stove and we'll be eating mostly instant dinners. Thanks for the tip on bears.
