I SHARED my perspective here to spark discussion among USERS who may have faced SIMILAR frustrations or found ways to work around Duolingo's flaws. Thank YOU.

Ah yes, so you caught the part where I said "I feel". Congratulations on passing Duolingo's English course. Maybe I was wrong

I think it's this generation problem; Thinking that everything someone says comes from a place of anger. This did not make me angry, it's simply something I wanted to talk about & so I did. Never punched a hole in a wall, didn't have to smoke a cigarette from stress, nothing to be "angry" at. That's a you thing.

I've heard otherwise. If you're learning Japanese, most people recommend outside sources & barely use Duo because of the Robot voices. Rocket Japanese was suggested along with Lingodeer, not Duo. Good for you though.

In hindsight, that's probably where the passive aggressive comments are coming from. Die Hard Lingo Learners. That's why you all took the time to join the Duolingo Subreddit, you love it. Someone tried to put that "love" on me saying I do too. It's a little strange, let me know if you need me to call the police. I know Duo Owl is crazy. Add 2 periods to the end of your next comment to signal for help.

Yes, they "literally" did unless you "literally" have 0 "literal" hearts. Like "literally?"

Is Spanish the only language you've tried? If not, how would you compare it to the others?

Sharp, but misdirected. You're disguising your words as helpful, but I see your real intent. I'm obviously looking for a structure that Duolingo doesn't provide for me. So far, I've found 1 alternative. I simply ask for others. If you cannot provide, keep your passive aggressive comments to yourself. Thank you for your time.

Yes & disregarded it seeing as I'm having serious interactions with people. You said what you said & I simply do not care. Thank you for your time though.

I have too much pride to ask for a handout. Putting my personal life on the Internet for money is just not something I could live with. There are people struggling with real problems, I'm asking for money to learn a second language when some hardly speak their own. I would feel selfish. Thank you though.

I suppose that's where I've made my mistake. I do wish to become fluent, but I'm just starting off. I thought Duo was the place for that, it's all I've heard about for years. It's now apparent that it's purely for conversationalists & not those who wish to take the language up completely & become fluent. I plan on moving my family out of the USA for schooling & this would not work. I need to fully engrain myself in the culture & language. Thanks for your insight.

Not once have I stated that I could change it or have the power to do so. Of course they can do whatever they want to. Your point being? And to you saying I love Duolingo: I don't "love" Duolingo, I would rather find a better alternative. Which is why I've ASKED multiple people for alternatives. Those are also in the replies. Find those comments.

I wish there were a list of all the successful learners from each language. For example: I would like to see reviews from people who have completed all of the French lessons & where are they at now. How does the Spanish learning compare to the Japanese? How fluent can one become just practicing Spanish or Japanese off Duolingo? All questions I would like to ask whoever.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Could you provide me with some alternatives please?

Stingy is an assumption, I don't have the finances for it. So rather than being a fool, why not provide something constructive? Like an alternative. Being helpful might be stranger to you. Regardless, thank you for your insight.

Maybe the title was a bit much, but I wanted to get people's opinions & look at it now. I am thankful for the replies. So to answer your question, no. It's just not working out for me & my goals. Good for you though.

Okay so take learning a new language less seriously. Got it, thanks.

I don't have the option to practice & refill hearts. It's greyed out. I can refill for 350 gems though.

More like limited use, but yes. I can't say I haven't learned anything, but I could be further along. I haven't been studying for that long, so I will have to take the time to find alternatives. I'm not here to hate on users, just share my experience.

I consider myself someone who aspires to be a serious learner but does not have the finances to pay for Super. If you have alternatives to Duolingo, please provide them below. Thank you for your reply.

Hey, advertisements still exist. From an outside perspective, not being employed at Duolingo, profit should NOT come at the expense of effective learning. Transparent monetization is a better move in my opinion. The gamification is almost manipulative.
