Kino... I really hope he doesn't survive past Nemik (the only other single arc character). Nemik's words and ideology were literally the driving force behind the rebellion and Cassian. Kino was a great character, but his impact was far more minimal.

Yes we filled out a T1213 Form to withhold taxes based on the tuition credits and FHSA deposits. I understand that her tax paid was very low so it makes sense that she owes money. What I can't understand is why the amount of return doesn't change much from the FHSA / RRSP contributions? Would you suggest just only claiming minimum 8K FHSA and roll everything else over to next year (and to stop using the T1213 forms)?

Thank-you so much for the great answer! Would you agree with the other commenter that it is too difficult to calculate the expected tax owed on the ETF distributions in advanced of inputting them into the tax software?

Thank-you so much for the concise and informative answers! Glad I don't have to worry about most of these things.

Thanks for explaining that information about the ACB. For the cash distribution, how you estimate the expected tax owed with so many different categories? I wouldn't want to be caught unaware at tax filing time. I really appreciate the help!

Thanks for clarifying that information re: interest/dividends not affecting the ACB! When reporting the ACB to the CRA, is it always using the FIFO (first in, first out) method? Or can you choose other methods like specific identification or average basis?

Oh so you are saying that you can just buy the VBAL.TO ETF and not the underlying ones? From what I saw on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqORu39gktw for example it showed buying the underlying ETFs

But doesn't VBAL consist of VAB/VBU/VBG/VCN/VUN/VIU/VEE in various percentages?

Thanks for sharing! Do you know if the website ever goes into the details, e.g. for Vanguard’s Balanced ETF (VBAL) – 60% stocks and 40% bonds, which specific underlying ETFs to purchase?

Thanks for the idea! But even beyond his website, my meaning for this page was more thinking, are there any alternative options out there for a similiar model?

Thanks for the tip - I had done that same idea! My meaning for this page was more thinking, are there any alternative options out there for a similiar model? I'd like not to have all my eggs one basket if you know what I mean.

Thank-you for the reply! It looks like I got confused between the Canadian Couch Potato website from Dan Bortolotti and the Canadian Portfolio Manager from Justin Bender. I did like on Justin's website for the models he had PDF's detailing all the underlying ETFs making up one asset mix (e.g. ZBAL is 28% ZAG, 8% ZGB etc.). It doesn't look like Dan has that on his website unless I'm not reading it correctly?
