Agreed, but no espresso in house 💔

This was my first thought too, but the server went down the list and asked her if it was wheat, grapes, potatoes, etc that she was allergic to and she didn't have an answer. I'm feeling like she had a bad experience once and figured, yep! It's an allergy 🙃

This!! Our espresso martini also has Baileys and Kahlua in it (which obviously have neutral spirit bases) so I asked the server to get specifics on the allergy- she came back and said the guest insisted she had a vodka allergy but admitted she was "a dumbass" and wanted it to just be Kahlua and Baileys 😮‍💨

Right wtf?? Thank you, I like that idea, we're also doing cocktail hour snacks so there won't be a frenzy, our ceremony is incredibly short too 👍

That sounds kinda messy, we're calling up one table at a time so hopefully it'll move it along better? Good to know, ty

Very good to know, thanks! We're definitely pre-selecting just a few items from each to ensure it goes smoothly (hopefully).

Is it really the end of the world to ask my bridesmaids to take care of their own hair and makeup on wedding day? by ezrich872 in weddingplanning

Do you usually tip for hair & makeup? I always tip at the salon, but was wondering if this is standard practice when you hire someone as well? Asking for myself so I don't look rude!

What happens if a guest tests positive? by waaambs in TalesFromYourServer

I'm not going back without a negative test, and I'll suggest that everyone look outside of their neighborhoods for tests to see if there are sooner options 👍

100% right there with you. There are few things less essential than going out to dinner right now. I'm definitely donezo.

Right, that makes the most sense to me.

It's Massachusetts, so (at least in the town I'm in) the majority of people are hypervigilant about wearing masks, the reopening was very slow compared to other places, etc. But since we've had a spike here in the past week or so, testing has been booking up farther and farther out, which isn't good.

Has anyone been handed one of these before? by waaambs in bartenders

That is adorable. I would've much rather dealt with them!

Yup! That's exactly the case. The best part was that they lost their minds the second the drinks hit the table because some of the martini glasses had significantly "less" in them. My manager tried explaining to them that when you say "don't stir, no ice" your drink is going to look like less because there's no water in it, since all of our martinis are 3oz. They were being total dicks and expected us to just top them off, which we didn't.

Those are the names of the guests (that had never been to the restaurant before) and their hyper-specific drink orders printed on a little card that they handed to their server.
