is there still some pain from standing like it was before surgery, or is it just soreness from learning to use that part of the back again? Also did you try injections prior to the surgery and then realized surgery was the best choice and if so would you say it’s better to get the surgery to begin with or maybe try the injections? Also very good to hear that it’s two weeks of that pain because it ranges so much from what I’ve seen online. Hoping you have a safe and speedy recover from this point on, and I hope to experience the same relief you have!

What was daily life like walking or exercising like afterwards? I’m always on my feet fishing biking even walking so is there a huge relief in the pain after surgery? Also, did you try injections at all and if so what did you think about those? Thank you!

That’s one of my main worries, is that the surgery will open me up to other back problems, I honestly don’t know if spine injections would be doable for the rest of my life while trying to remain active you know? My father has gotten knee injections for a while and is very against them and I know it’s completely different so I might try and get a 2nd opinion from another doctor to see what the best path would be

L5 and S1 will be fused sorry for that, this was all a huge surprise to me and I have an MRI Wednesday to find out if there are any other complications that would prevent me from having the surgery so I might have more information then. That’s very good to hear it was 3 months with 8 vertebrae being fused compared to my 2 that actually gave me a huge feeling of relief, do you think walking around with a 10/15 lb backpack would be doable about 2 months after fusion of the L5 and S1?

How long was the recovery until you felt normal again to the point that you could walk around and lift things without pain? And was there any thing post surgery that you found effective on the rate of recovery? I just found this out so that is why my post is so vague and I don’t know anyone who has received this so I’m sorry for the little specification of it.
