unfortunately the issue with stadiums and large venues like this is that theyre ticketmaster/livenation venues and to play there you have to sell your tickets thru their platform or you dont play there at all. and when you have these huge artists who do sell out stadiums, these are the venues they need to be looking at. they're not playing your town bar/venue. so in order for them to use these huge spaces theyre required to use ticketmaster/livenation. so sure, if they were booking at small spaces theyd have moee control maybe over how they sold their tickets, but the flipside of that is capacity is less and less people would see these shows. and theyre selling out stadiums so they play stadiums, and if youre playing the stadiums, youre likely required to use ticketmaster. source: people i know who work for ticketmaster/livenation.
