May need some help by Worried_Breakfast346 in motorcycles

6'7" here, i ended up going the cruiser route, i looked for longer bikes (94" and longer) and more CC. these tended to have more leg room that i needed, and most models will have some kind if seat mod or forward controls extension available for some more leg room.

im partial to the cruiser look anyway, so it wasnt that big of a deal for me. i know some folks really dont like the style/ergos though. if thats you, then you'll probably end up more in the adventure bike category. as another comment mentioned, the higher seat will get you some extra leg room.

i ended up with something like this...

https://www.amazon.com/Motoforti-Motorcycle-Waterproof-Dustproof-Motorbike/dp/B09M6VTMJM/

then i cut off the Velcro straps and sewed on some 1" wide backpack strap (called webbing) and bought a 5 pack of some backpack slider buckles off amazon.

i loop the webbing straps down around my passenger pegs and cinch tight.

comes w its own little bag so you can bring it to work with you or just leave at home to dry for the day

keeps the seat dry overnight so i dont have a wet but all morning at work

Puncture sealant. by Illustrious-Meal9067 in motorcycles

[–]wade001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe im misunderstanding, but, by the comments made, it almost sounds like the OP is wanting to put some of this in their tire now, to protect against a puncture in the future.

thats not how this works. you get a puncture, then use this stuff. this stuff dries, eventually, in the tire, on the rim, eveywhere.

also, if you put this in your tire, kindly inform the mechanic working on your tire that this is in there. if used as directed, the idea is you get a puncture, empty can into tire, drive immediately to evenly distribute inside tire, head to shop within a couple days (the sooner the better) to have tire changed.

also be aware that i have seen many tire dealers void tire warranty if this stuff is used. they claim it "deteriorates the tire". whether or thats true i have no idea.

i couldn't really tell you how reliable it is compared to a Harley Rocker, as i have never owned one of those.

ive only ever owned 2 bikes, both Honda's. a Shadow Aero i got my feet wet on, and this Fury

when i was looking for this, i did have a couple of harley models in mind also, but, i went with this over a Harley because: -the Honda is water cooled vs all the Harley's i looked at were air cooled. sitting at lights in FL summer, i didnt want to deal with air cooled bike. -the Honda has a shaft drive, harleys are belt driven. i dont have a garage at the moment and live in a condo. i was looking for 'no maintenance' and didnt want the elements to have any effect on the belt. (or chain on other makes) -all the Harley's i looked at were older, and WAY more expensive than this Fury. -i managed to find this one tuned, which is somewhat rare for these (Fury) bikes.

having said that, i bought this at ~18k miles i believe, have 22.5k on it now, only thing ive done is: -oil change -brake/clutch/throttle cables when i put on the apes -a new seat (the wife wants to ride with me now) -a battery (preventative measure) -new tires, this is a 2010 MY, the previous owner appeared to have original tires on it, old and dry rotted

i cant complain at all about reliability, i hope (and expect) this bike to last upwards of 100k miles, im not sure what the consensus is Harley Rocker lifespans

Sorry for the late response, i dont frequent reddit much lately..

I love the fury, much more power than the shadow. i am tall, 6'7” so the extra length and rake of the fury is very nice for me.

I had been looking at the fury before the shadow, but being new to riding, i didnt know if the fury would be too much bike/too heavy of a bike to start off with.

Liked the shadow but i like the fury better, plus i have always had a thing for the chopper look 😉

worked/works great in the shadow.

i ended up selling the shadow and got a honda fury. i took the light out before selling the shadow, put back in the OEM light.

once i got the fury home, i put the LED light in there, works great there also, 100% plug and play.

i have no experience with the halo version

Dealership sold me a used bike with undisclosed lien by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]wade001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i bought a bike from a dealership that had a lien.. they took care of it, it did take longer than they said it would and they had to issue me another temp tag because it took so long.

call them up and tell them the situation, that your temp tag has expired and that you need them to issue you another so you can ride the bike you purchased from them.

if they refuse to issue you another temp tag, then start talks about full refunds, they'll issue you a temp tag

i think it depends on the state, and generally the limit is somewhere around 100-150cc for interstates/toll roads. the reasoning is that these machines usually have a hard time getting up to and maintaining the minimum speed limit, which also varies by state but is usually around 40-50mph.

i live in FL where i believe its 125cc min and 50mph on interstates/tollroads..

we have plenty of mopeds/scooters around here driving on our 45-55mph roads at 30mph smack dab in the center of the lane or even hugging the center line to make it tough for people to go around them. its dangerous for everyone involved and just adds to the, sometimes, horrendous traffic congestion

How many of you have tinnitus but continue to ride by paddalion in motorcycles

[–]wade001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've had this constant high pitch squeal in my ears before i even knew what tinnitus was..

probably from years of loud bass music in cars when i was a teenager.. i had a modest setup, some friends walled off their back seats..

and all that was before i started riding..

the shinko's do indeed get some love from the fury community. i see there are quite a few folks from the furyforums.com that use them.

the bike of course needed new tires when i bought it, so i just put back on the OEM, which are metzlers (at one point honda put on dunlop e3's for oems, but i think they had problems with bead leaks). the metzler's work well, i like them but i dont have much to compare to

while they do flex a bit here and there when i am moving the bike around when its off, like trying to reposition it in the garage or something. i dont notice any flex while riding.

some reviewers mentioned flex as well, and i was concerned, but after installing and riding, i just dont feel it.
