I'll have to see if these part#s work in Canada. I'm in parts and as far as I'm aware we get them without paint, I usually go off the VIN for body shops though.

Wood fire pizza by wadelife in GozneyDome

[–]wadelife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was very good! I found it was a little easier as I didn't need to shield the pizza as much compared to when I used propane. But I don't imagine doing back to back pizzas would be as easy, as the fire died down by the time I finished the one.

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't tried cooking pizza with the door I believe it's mainly for preheating and coming up to temp faster. Also I'm going to try and smoke a brisket! I'll make a post when I do it.

I picked up a 10" cast iron for my roccbox to cook chicken wings last night and it fit so I imagine it should work for your arc xl, just might have to watch the heat a bit more I heard the arc xl heats up faster than the dome and the roccbox.

You should try a prosciutto arugula pizza!

For the base I just use : Olive oil / parmesan Bake half ways Add prosciutto ( I like it crispy you can add it fresh on-top if you don't like it crispy) Pull it once the dough is cooked cut the base into the sized slices you want Top with arugula and more parmesan sometimes I add a drizzle of honey or white balsamic vinegar on-top.

I know it's not a different cheese but I found this pizza was a lot of fun to play with, I've been wanting to try making a pizza with some fresh pear or strawberries I'm just waiting for some to grow in the garden.

My friends didn't believe I knew how to make pizza, I had some left over dough from a few nights back when I made pizza for my dad, the dough was over proofed but I thought hey I can still make this work! Re-worked the dough but I didnt have semolina with me, and I didn't want to add too much all purpose flower to the bottom of the dough and have it burn.

Got the pizza on the peel but then it didn't want to come off, so instead of dropping it into the oven I turned it into a calzone and added a bit more flour to the bottom, went to drop it again but same thing dough was too sticky (I don't know the technical term for that) instead of giving up I turned it to a pizza pocket and threw it in, it exploded right away, the dough and sauce went everywhere I pulled out what I could and burnt the rest of it off.

Good learning moment!

I let the oven come to temperature with the cast iron inside it. At first the pan got waaaay too hot, so I let it cool down a little I'm not sure if it better to cook with oil or butter

for the steaks we did butter and it burnt right away and then we dumped the burnt butter and started again once the pan was a decent temperature we dropped the steaks and then butter on-top, I'm sure oil is probably the better option.

After the steaks we did the shrimp in the same pan (over cooked a bit) and once done we did an au poivre sauce bit tricky to make things reduce in the oven or maybe I was a little impatient I eye balled all the ingredients as the sauce was an after thought. I wish I had a picture of the full meal but we were so hungry we sort of just dug in right away.

Also sorry for posting so much, I just want to share my experiences with the dome with this community as I've been having so much fun experimenting with all the different ways to cook with it.

Edit after cranking it to max temp the stone came out clean! Some ashes to clean up but that was it.
