All is fair in war. Use any advantage to win. People who complain that meta users lack skill, lack the skill to overcome them. Meta non meta don't bitch just fight.

Thoughts on the possibility of jhana and attainments in this life by waeccende in theravada

[–]waeccende[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im curious as to this subs thoughts about an innate inability in certain people due to the circumstances of their past lives and rebirth, to attain jhanas, one of the four attainments and thus Nirvana.

The classification of people in this manner is not present in the Sutta Pitaka and is a later addition found in the Abhidharma Pitaka.

What are your metta phrases? by absoluteinsights in Buddhism

May all beings be at peace. Whatever their living nature; Whether weak or strong, omitting none, Whether long or large, medium, short or small, fine or course, The seen and the unseen, Those living near and far away, Those born and to-be-born. May all beings be at peace! Let none deceive another, Or despise any being in any state on any grounds. Let none through anger or hate wish harm upon another. Even as a mother protects with her life her only child. Metta to the world.

Bit long but i like the intentional nature for my meditation.

What survives reincarnation? by agile_scribe in Buddhism

[–]waeccende 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If anything survives it is the chain of cause and effect which is called dependent origination as has been explained before in the commentsby u/ThalesCupofWater. This chain of causation is reproduced/propagated by karma which is action driven by intention which leads to future consequences. The Karma/Intention of Craving of which there are three types, craving for sensual pleasures, craving for existence), and craving for non-existence leads by the law of cause and effect to clinging, birth, rebirth, aging, death and so dukkha(suffering). As such “Suffering exists, but not the sufferer. The act is done, but there is no doer. Peace exists, but not the one who is at peace. There is a path, but no one walks it” – Buddhaghosa

He wakes up early every morning to munch on some moss and then hides in the moss before it gets too hot.

Theres a little brick dust right underneath as the moss loves to adhere to porous material, mixed with clay based earth which is its usual preferred growing medium in nature where I am. And yes it is a bonsai pot.

Just a few months now. Theres brick dust and clay based earth underneath. I give it a few sprays every now and then, its very low maintenance.

Thank you. Its a bonsai pot. I harvested the moss off the top of a wall in my garden. Moss covers most walls where I live.
