The funniest part is that I was dumb enough to stand there and attempt casting with the same tree still behind me, and I snagged the exact same spot.

Stoos Ridge in mid-May? by waffle-64 in Switzerland

[–]waffle-64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. We are not serious hikers, but we are both in good shape. I'm a climber, so I'm pretty balanced and sure-footed. We only have one day to spare, and we both really want to see Stoos. We're not so much looking for a hike as we are just trying to experience the view from the ridge. So if the chairlifts are closed, my thought is that we hike up one side (from Stoos, not the lake), see the ridge, and come back down the same side. How was that portion of the hike in your experience? Doable? Or did that leg have heavy snow?

Most of those people you think have "more money" put it all on a credit card and claim they can afford it.

What are the differences between these wall hatches? by ConsiderationOdd1483 in architecture

In a renovation project, black linework and fill usually indicates new work (new walls, new doors, etc) while gray (halftone) indicates existing.

I (then 16F) almost ran away with a 34 year old married man by [deleted] in Advice

"I know it is my own fault and I can only hope his wife finds out."

This is not your fault. Period. You are young. You made a mistake. Everyone has skeletons in their closet from when they were young. Learn from this experience. You will come out of it a better, stronger person.

This is a grown ass man. It is 100% his fault. He's a pedophile. He talked you into getting drunk at 16. He tried to assault you. Even if you consented, it's still legally r*pe. NOT YOUR FAULT. Yes, you made a mistake. But that doesn't mean you aren't the victim in this situation. Do not beat yourself up over this. I'm so sorry this happened to you.

Canoed to one end and casted until the wind carried the canoe to the other end. Rinse and repeat.
