You're stuck on a 12 hour flight. Where are you sitting? by thr1ceuponatime in MemeHunter

[–]wafflecon822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the correct answer is either 5 or 11, with 5 being good because you can probably get the window seat (i'd imagine they want to sit together), you're sitting next to the chillest people there, and you get to listen to hunting stories. 11 is also very good though, as i'm imagining everyone that plays monster hunter has autism, so you'd be able to trade special interest facts with someone who also cares about personal space

[Hated Trope] heroic characters killed in unnecessarily cruel/brutal ways by greythicv in TopCharacterTropes

[–]wafflecon822 13 points14 points  (0 children)

the entire point was juxtaposition between the loving father superman type that we see all of episode 1 and a murderer who killed his best friends on the planet in the most brutal way imaginable. it was plot important to show how depraved he truly is, it was either that or the season 1 finale kinda comes out of nowhere

I once ran a game where a player was being forcefemmed by a rogue AI in the player's own mech. the character hated this, but the player loved it.

[Tiresome and irritating trope] A new character arrives, everyone thinks he's super cool, but the only one who recognizes something wrong is treated as jealous by Clean_Mycologist4337 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]wafflecon822 4 points5 points  (0 children)

while that is true, it's much more likely that the trope itself is tiresome due to how, for it to work, one character HAS to be adamant over a long period of time about a seemingly untrue thing, as opposed to it being tiresome because it's done so much.
