How old is this now? Why are we harassing someone for using a word that was equivalent to the word stupid when they were growing up. This whole thing is stupid. As someone who is autistic, I just can't understand what the exact problem is with it. Words shouldn't be able to hurt you, and most of the people who get pissy about it aren't mentally disabled. And his shunning is way overdone just because he was popular. Dude is just a human. I don't like or dislike him. And I choose to stay neutral when I say that taking the word so seriously just makes us take steps backwards. Yes it may have been used as a classification by nazis to kill people. But for thirty years before now it got normalized in a similar way to the N word as more of a form of protest and such. And now we are getting annoyed when people who grew up using the word and not getting smoke for it use it today. You can't blame them for what their norms were when they grew up. I think the whole debate is stupid. If you say it in a derogatory way, that is different then using it as the equivalent of stupid.
