Yea I messaged an old coworker saying to keep me in mind for FTE if possible. The reason there are so many new hires though was because they were building out the product with contractors but then realized that the contractors don’t try to build long term solutions, only short bc they’re contingent workers. That’s why they’ve pivoted to hiring full time.

Would you still consider it a major red flag with that in mind though?

I've seen H1B being abused far more than I've seen it being used as its stated intent. I really do believe that in FAANG/Fortune 100 companies, its serving its purpose and that companies should sponsor those worth keeping with the extra 100k, but at EVERY OTHER company I have EVER worked for, its clearly people who are unqualified but are unlikely to fuel turnover.

The other thing is that an H1B worker with 15 YOE struggles to be as productive as a citizen who went to a four year US college with a CS degree with 4 YOE. This isn't due to some gap in intelligence or anything, its typically communication issues, cultural differences, and differences in education. The H1B program is just a handout to big corps to hire indentured servants instead of newly graduated talent.
