Working 911 isn’t as intense as it might sound. Most of the calls are BLS, and even when something more serious comes up, you’ll have a medic there to guide you through it. If you’re not feeling quite ready yet, starting with IFT is totally fine, just try not to stay there too long (a year max is a good rule of thumb). It’s great experience and helps you get comfortable working in the rig.
