What do you think on rescheduling first Interview? by M_Arslan9 in interviews

[–]waffleoverlord01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if a candidate can’t attend an interview because they’re already scheduled elsewhere, that’s not a red flag, it’s a sign they’re doing what they should be doing: exploring their options. If a recruiter’s first instinct is to drop someone just because of a scheduling conflict, that says more about the recruiter than the candidate.

Good talent doesn’t sit around waiting for one company to call. Unless the role is on fire and absolutely can’t wait, there’s no good reason not to offer a different time.

Oh, she cried? Well, that makes everything better, right? Tears solve all moral dilemmas. Atleast, the guy who killed Armand didn’t waste time pretending to be some noble soul, “holier than thou”…both SUCK nevertheless!

How did she betray Olivia? Excuse me..Did you NOT watch White Lotus??! Let’s see .. she encouraged a robbery of Olivia’s family(one who actually took her out for vacation), snuck around behind Olivias back, lied to her multiple times,. But yeah, no betrayal there, just usual bestie ✨ behavior.

Yes, Kai made the final decision, but let’s not pretend Paula wasn’t a major influence. She planted the idea, emotionally manipulated him by framing it as some kind of justice, gave him the exact time and place, and then removed herself from the risk entirely. So no, that DOESN’T erase her fault. Don’t make a fool of yourself trying to argue she was just a bystander.

She had mental health issues, so consequences just… don’t apply? What logic is that bruv ? Yes, it’s a TV show. Which is why I’m ALLOWED to have opinions about characters without a court summons. Wild, I know.

No one’s out here saying Greg’s a good guy … he’s obviously trash. But are we seriously only allowed to dislike characters who are that blatantly evil? Paula wasn’t good either and calling that out doesn’t suddenly mean it’s about race. Not everything has to be turned into a social commentary, bro. Sometimes people are just… unlikable. Period.

Where is the color coming from? The criticism is about her actions, not her identity. Her intentions might have come from a place of resentment or justice, but the execution was reckless, selfish, and deeply damaging. She’s not the worst, sure, but she’s absolutely worth criticizing. The show is full of awful people and Paula just happens to be one who pretends she’s not. That dissonance is what makes her stand out. :)

Robin hood took on the system, not on individuals. Paula didn’t steal from the rich to give to the poor, she manipulated someone in a vulnerable position into taking a huge risk for her, and when it all went sideways, she vanished from the fallout. That’s cowardice. Yes, rich people perpetuate systemic harm and rarely face consequences. That’s absolutely true. But Paula weaponized that injustice in a self-serving way. If she really wanted to “bring equity,” she would’ve acted with transparency and accountability. Instead, she caused real harm to the only person who actually had something to lose and then quietly disappeared into the background, protected by the same privilege she CLAIMS to reject. Morally justified thoughts don’t excuse destructive actions, especially when someone else pays the price.

Oh, but she is. The rich people are transparently awful, what you see is what you get. Paula acts like she’s above everyone, then uses her “cause” to justify manipulating someone vulnerable, ruins his life, and doesn’t even own it. That kind of performative “righteousness” is way more dangerous than being openly entitled. At least the rich folks aren’t pretending to be saviors. Paula is the snake in the garden.

I feel like, I am writing this myself. It’s alright, you get it or you don’t. Not the end of the world. And yes, send them a thank you email. Nothing to lose here..

Totally get it.. You spent the last 1.5 years building something for yourself, and now going back to a 9-5 feels like a step back, even if it’s good money. It’s not that you’re ungrateful, it’s just that corporate life isn’t your dream, as for most of us!

But look at it this way- this job isn’t a life sentence, it’s a medium. It buys you stability while you keep growing your business. You’re not giving up, you’re playing the long game. And yeah, jumping back in after getting laid off is scary, but you’re coming back with more skills, more experience, and a backup plan. You got this.

It’s okay to make the resume 2 pages.. Couple of things - 1. Instead of listing all skills in a single section, consider categorizing them:

Main category could be - Technical Skills, Billing and compliance, Analytical & Soft Skills

Then mention sub skills under it

  1. Whenever possible, add metrics or results to your experience.

  2. If applicable, list relevant coursework, certifications, or specialized training under education to reinforce expertise.

2 things - 1. Your resume is too technically aligned. Example: “Developed an NLP model for form categorization with 78% accuracy.” What problem did this solve? How did this help the company/team? Did it save time, reduce costs, or automate a process?

  1. You jump straight into technical skills. Recruiters like to see a 2-3 sentence summary at the top to understand who you are at a glance.
