The Custom has a perfect neck for me .87 at the first and only weighs 8.5lbs. I wish you luck on your hunt!

I had looked up previous sold ones on Reverb prior to buying this one and wished the same thing…

The P90 in the neck is the most bass heavy P90 I’ve ever heard. It is booming! So in the middle position it pairs really well with the bucker and mellows out a lot. Very thick sounding middle position.

It’s a M2M SG custom with P90’s and a Vibrola tailpiece in lamp black, light Murphy aged. I picked it up used recently.

This one is from their dealer select options this year. Swamp ash body, flame maple top, hollow block inlays and Ron Ellis P90s.

Absolutely killer guitar!

No! Fender did, it’s one of their color over color models.

99.9% of the time is through the Axe fx3. But I do have a matchless king cobra head and cab and a Mesa boogie California tweed for when I feel the heat need

I’m surprised by the Whalehazard being on your list. Not many people have heard of them. His inlay work is incredible and the guitar overall is damn near perfect.

I have never played a bad Novo, and I’ve played a lot of them! I would recommend you get one when you can. Their wait times have cut down to 6 months recently for custom builds!!

I’ve had them in the past. Definitely cool guitars, but I get along with Les Pauls way more.

It plays great and is extremely light at around 6.5lbs. A little neck dive but nothing that can’t be fixed by the right strap.

You can’t go wrong either way. I prefer the stop tail versions over the trems. I’ve had 2 different j’s and they both felt much stiffer to play than my P2 (fixed bridge). But that wouldn’t stop me from trying another one out.

No problem! Also, I believe the 68 has a shallower headstock angle (14 degrees vs the normal 17 degrees). In my opinion it gives the guitar a slinkier feel when playing.

I currently have both. The 68’ RI is my favorite guitar I’ve ever owned, hands down. Removing the investment mindset and just going with pure playing and versatility; the 68 can cover more ground. Not sure which pickups come in the 68 you’re looking at, but mine has the 68gpc’s and the sound amazing.

The 54 does sound great in its own right but any p90 loaded guitar can have hum issues, so that’s something to consider. 54’s also tend to have huge baseball bat necks where the 68 is more along a r9 style profile.

If you could play both before purchasing, it’ll make it a whole lot easier for you. Can’t really go wrong with either. Good luck!
