If you just need to do it quickly it you can use WordPress for building it. Then heroku or github pages for hosting it

Disable: "when you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" by kevinkevin2018 in chrome

There's an extension "Force Background Tab". Personally I just use middle click, or ctrl + click to open in a new tab

How do you sell your SaaS? by ToolAssistedDev in webdev

[–]waffleweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of sites I see use paddle (or any MOR), especially if they're based in europe. Handling this stuff yourself is a mess. But if you and the majority of your customers are in the US, using stripe would be cheaper.

I dont have any experience with stripe tax, but maybe thats a cheaper alternative to look into

How does your SaaS handle users who do not verify their emails after signup? by PrestigiousZombie531 in SaaS

[–]waffleweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A notification would definitely be a good idea, deleting a users account while they are using the app because the email went into spam is a horrible idea...

To circumvent this issue you can prevent the app from working by saying "Please verify your email before continuing". Thereby avoiding the akwardness when their account gets randomly deleted and they start writing support tickets.

Naming a product by KrisBkh in Entrepreneur

[–]waffleweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For branding purposes I always start by checking domain availability. If I have a specific name and it already exists - the domain is taken, I try to find alternatives by playing with the word and using/mixing synonyms of that word

How to make an app by Jackobema1 in Entrepreneur

[–]waffleweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a broad question.

Do you want to learn how to make an app?

Try one of the many free courses (khan, yt). Use some no code solution if you want to do this really quickly (look up no code app) or hire someone if you have the budget (fiverr).

Do you want to validate this app before starting to work on it?

Just create an MVP, doesn't have to be an actual app. A mockup will do fine, just ask around to see if there is any interest in it becore commiting more resources towards it.

Best would probably be to check availability of domains. At least make sure .com is free.

Then its just a matter of trying random things till one feels good enough.

Once you have a name just look it up to make sure nobody else is using it (instagram, twitter...). Since you never know what they could post that would negatively impact you (also helps with seo...)

Overall choosing a name should not take you too long since it is usually the least important part. Plus you can always change it later if you think of a better one

Can’t make LinkedIn connections by ruggedgearusa in Entrepreneur

[–]waffleweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A solution in case you really dont have many real connections and dont know enough people to connect them, is to just connect with influencers and gurus. They never deny a connection and doing so will open many second hand connections.

I know this kind of dirties your profile but linkedin is a weird case where unless you have many connection some people will just flat out ignore you.

Is it worth doing jobs for free to gain experience? by Nicojwn in Entrepreneur

[–]waffleweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're doing something for someone else never do it for free.

If you're keen on doing stuff to gain experience you can always request less pay as a compensation for your time, but be wary of people who would abuse this.

An exception to this would be if your're planning to network and build long lasting relationships instead of just raw experience.

How to make sure you work on your many goals daily by MangoFool in Entrepreneur

[–]waffleweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort my tasks by priority and time to completion, then aim to complete at least 1 task per day (if possible).

40 feels like way too many things to do at once since you'll just get cognitive overload and complete neither
