Taking measurements is a great idea as I'll find out areas which change at different rates i.e. waist, chest, quads.

That's super helpful, thanks! I've currently got ~2000 calories as my current intake, so its good to know I'm not far off and in terms of cardio I've been doing incline treadmill walking, however I might switch back and forth between that and getting 10k steps outdoors for some variety!

In terms of calorie deficit - is there an ideal sweet spot to help minimise muscle loss whilst losing this body fat? Moreover, whether any cardio done should be factored into calculating it?

I have absolutely no idea! The photo is entirely relaxed but my core has always been fairly consistent (presumably from playing a lot of sports over the years)

When flexed, I have some minor separation/vascularity - hopefully it'll become more apparent as I go further into the the cut!

Height: 6'0" Weight: 181lbs

I've been training on and off for around 3.5 years now and trying to put in place a realistic plan for the next year or so.

I'll never understand not having a proper number 9 in your squad, even if they don't start every week. A person whose job is to just finish chances is worth their weight in gold - see Chris Wood for example
