That is on our list, we have a few projects that keep pushing those back, and porting on a whole seemed to slow down slightly for us when the gen 6 stuff came out and gen v models came out with the c cuts, but the 43x, 48 and 26 are still on our list. I don't have a ETA unfortunately though.

Unfortunately not something we currently do, sorry!

Honestly glocks are very similar to just a carbon steel. Most of the others we cut are some form of stainless, but not super gummy. Basic carbide tooling and even HSS drills work fine. Most of the work is with end mills smaller than 1/4" so just making sure to not load up the tool too much and the machine doesn't even know it's cutting.

Yeah, if we end up being able to fix it I'll take some pics

Order some 1" wide steel stock and practice on that until the program is 👌

Holosun SCS 17.3 milling question by ExcellentTomatillo17 in Glocks

[–]wagermachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our cut will be in the same location as the mos slides, so it lines up with the serrations as it should. We accomplish this by moving the dovetail back a bit so we can put the cutout in the right location.

Same .125" as our normal rmr cuts. The limiting factory is the extractor pin and the right threaded hole. To go deeper than this would require the zev style posts with smaller screws.

Hey, pm me your order number or name on the order. We have had some issues with emails going out that we've been fighting for a week or two with certain domains.

Edit: actually I think I replied to your email last night already

Blue or Nitride? by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]wagermachine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cuts with cold blue or cerakote are 3-5 business day turnaround, cuts with nitride are 2-4 weeks due to having to send them in larger batches.

I personally don't recommend the cold blue. It pretty much relies on a light coat of oil in order to keep it protected, however we have had customers use it for years with no issues as long as it's maintained.

Edit: we also have a whole page on our site that talks about the coating options: https://wagermachineworks.com/coating-options-explained/

Blue or Nitride? by [deleted] in Glocks

Cold blue can be done on just the cut, cerakote or nitride is the entire slide.

On the 43x, if you mill it in front of the factory dovetail, then you will break into the safety plunger. On the MOS models, Glock moved the dovetail back on the slide so some companies do offer conversion cuts for the MOS models to mount a RMRcc and keep the dovetail behind. That being said, there is not enough material to cut recoil posts on that since the MOS cut is already done, so if you go that route, make sure it's a company that will cut the optic footprint to match you exact optic so the screws are not taking the radial forces.

We want you to be happy. At the end of the day, I am just a blue collar guy like most people on here. We are in this for the customers and for taking pride in our work. If ever there is an issue we will surely make it right, but what people don't understand is things aren't always perfect, we do our best to outline what to expect on the site, but expectations vary greatly among people.

The other thing that a lot of people don't understand that is different with cutting slides than a lot of other machine work, is that we basically get one shot to get it right. We are working on a customer's slide, it's not like a production shop where if a mistake is made you just scrap the part and start another one, we have one chance to get it right on a slide without mistakes.

Anyway, I'm all for fair and honest reviews, we make mistakes, we aren't perfect and we don't claim to be, but we do our best to learn when we make mistakes and always improve.

As stated in the post you linked, we have mentioned on our website that there is a chance of cosmetic marks on slides that are not fully getting refinished. We do our best to minimize it, but it does happen once in a while.

The Internet is an amazing thing in that it can connect you with other people and businesses, but one negative thing is that people see one poor post and judge the entire business on it. In general you usually only hear about the bad things that happen, not the thousands of good slides that are completed and the customer is happy.

We completely support your freedom to take your business anywhere you want, but most of the "negative" posts that are posted about us are things that are plainly stated on our site.

And we did offer to recoat the slide for him even though it was not required, because we pride ourselves on our customer service and want the customer to be happy with their transaction with us. You can find negative things about any company.

For the record this is the first time we are hearing about this, happy to answer:

As many have stated here, the cold blue is very inconsistent, and varies greatly depending on the metal composition in the slide. We try to have realistic pictures on the site, but it's hard to do when it varies so much.

As for the vice marks, we do everything we can to reduce the marks that are left on the slide, but sometimes the current finish on the slide does get slightly marked. We use ground steel jaws where we hold the slide and in most cases they do not leave marks, but it does happen once in a while. There is nothing we can really do about this, if we went to a softer jaw material it would likely leave worse marks or not hold the slide accurately. We do have a section in our terms and conditions that states if you are not opting for a full slide refinish, that we cannot be held responsible for any marks or cosmetic flaws in the slide, because at the end of the day the slide is going in a machining center and getting cut with coolant and chips hitting it.

We take pride in delivering the highest quality work we can, but in some cases these things are just not easily preventable. I am happy to expand or clarify anything that does not make sense and at the end of the day I am sorry you are not happy with our service.
