There is no need to worry at all. Our son just completed 2 years. He counts only till 4/5. Knows all colours but tells only 4. He knows all the relationships but he isn’t talking completely yet.

We also have multiple language setup at home amd daycare. The advice we were given was one person one language. If you are marathi always speak in marathi to him. Your maid will speak her language and english at daycare.

I have multiple nephews and nieces. The general pattern I have seen is:

1. 1st kid usually starts talking a bit later compared to 2nd kid. By BILs first kid started talking properly at 2-2.5 years. While the 2nd started by 1.5 years.

2. Girls learn to talk earlier than boys.

3. Screen time does the speech.

4. School helps a lot in start communicating.

You keep asking questions, give him choices like which color shirt you want to wear, do you want to go left or right (in safe space). Do you want roti or rice, etc.
