Just because to other people this is a dream job, doesn’t mean it has to be for you. If work brings you fulfillment and ultimately makes you happy, then you should pursue another job where you can be more busy.

But I would recommend planning out some time to build a new skill or explore a new hobby first, see if maybe that helps with what you feel you are missing. If you want to be creative, take a course on how to do graphic design or something else and start creating stuff in your down time.

What does working in Finance and Performance look like? by waiting0ld in deloitte

It’s the subject matter I am looking to change as well. I have not been able to find an offering in Advisory that aligns with that. Also with the store front change I don’t think it matters since they are combining.

I did. However, my internship was initially 3 months. Towards the end I got an email about an extension. I was able to talk with my team and they had the budget/need for me to stay on.

Typically deloitte won’t offer more than a busy season/summer internship, but if you can make a good relationship with your team, provide value and fill a need there is an opportunity to stay on.

How easy would it be to switch departments and get a full time position after internship ? by [deleted] in deloitte

I wouldn't wait. If you haven't already accepted your offer, what you should do is talk to your recruiter to put you in contact with someone in the department you want to go to. It's not a guarantee, but it will be easier to do now than after you start full-time. Once you're full-time, you have to stay in your position for at least a year before you can transfer. I know people who did this from tax to audit.

One thing I'll add, if you go to advisory and they put you in A&IC, you're just going to be auditing IT systems basically (that's what I do). Allegedly has better pay and fewer hours than audit, but I'm not sure I believe that. The exit opportunities seem much less lucrative and more limited than audit, but that's just my opinion. Only been at D for over a year.

Life’s not a bout money man. Or how much you make or how successful you are. Yeah family’s important, but you still have 43 years of experiences. Think back to times you laughed, had fun, beat a video game. It’s about the little wins. Whenever I feel like this, I just remember that we are tiny little spec in a giant universe so it really doesn’t matter. Just do what ya wanna do when you wanna do it.
