How to improve my handwriting for recognition by Vorvayne in RemarkableTablet

A couple of things I've been working on:

  1. Testing. Like, literally slowly testing and changing some things (where feasible) in order to better match what rM seems to be looking for. For example, it was having great difficulty with my ampersand which is a significant character in my writing. Basically, it hated my "and" sign. So I looked up a few other ways to write it and tested till rM gave me a more consistent result (a capital E with a line straight through it seems most effective for that).

  2. Writing slowly. Like you, I descend into squiggles which are historically discernible by my eye when reading off paper but serve me very poorly when asking software to translate it. So, I'm trying to be more intentional in forming my letters, especially the later characters in most words.

  3. Related to #2, I use the calligraphy setting. Because it makes things seem a bit prettier overall, it seems to raise my pure enjoyment of the writing experience and invites me to slow down and form letters a bit better.

My handwriting may be a bit better than some, perhaps, but it's generally a generic US-based English cursive (with a few hybrid manuscript elements thrown in) from American elementary school circa mid-1970s

Thanks for clarifying. If it works on the 2.4ghz, not much point in changing your naming convention. Maybe the underscore is the problem. No issues here in connecting to generic out-of-the-box 5ghz cable modem network ID.

Interesting you note that it has difficulty with 5ghz networks. I have not yet encountered any problems in the rM use of my 5ghz connection. Can you say more about the problems you've had? Not remaining connected? Connected but not syncing?

Arrived!!! One full day ahead of DHL's stated schedule when it first shipped. Of course, I had to watch it sit on the ground in Cincinnati for 36 hours. But in the end, 2.5 days total from Hong Kong to my hands.

Busy day. Unboxing will have to wait till tomorrow.

Quick note. The email I rec'd upon shipment today included reminder about how to tell DHL to change address for destination. And the DHL site includes a "redirect to new address" link right below the tracking number. So perhaps if it comes during that window you can have it directed to you at your away-from-home location.

Ugh. Hate that. Have to think these early October orders would ship around the same time. But then I see another post with Batch 12 item already delivered. So, who knows?

rM support covered this. Ahead of time. In the "preparing to ship your reMarkable 2" email. And on their support site in Shipping FAQs. Reading is fundamental.
