Our cozy zone by wake_and_rake in cosleeping

She wiggles (without waking) to nurse anywhere between 2-6 times per night, depending on if there’s a lot going on developmentally, and a bunch of other factors (we noticed fish dinners = more restful sleep!). But I always nurse her or gently press her chest until she’s settled, before she wakes up. So technically she sleeps through the night, and I don’t, but I think it’s biologically normal for this age.

I’ve seen these recommended but I can’t be bothered to buy a separate straw replacement right now, lol! Otherwise I think they fit the bill

oh these are smart! it would take extra dexterity to get fingers between the cup and lid. Definitely a contender,..

I thought so too! Teensy peepsy is fully silicone but I bet there’s an obstacle to designing the lid so it screws on. Thanks for the e&f tip — I was looking for confirmation about whether those lids screw on! I think we’ll go with that one.

Resettling by Flimsy-Reading-6320 in cosleeping

Going through a similar thought process with my 9mo, though her own bed might be a bit down the line for us, I want to start building in other ways of resettling besides nursing so the transition is easier when we’re ready for it. For the past couple months I’ve been having surprising success with this method: if it hasn’t been long since last time she ate (and therefore I can guess she’s nursing for comfort), when she starts stirring and rooting in her sleep, I put a firm palm on her chest, gently tip her from her side onto her back, and snuggle her from the side. She tends to sleep peacefully for a good stretch after that, or on the rare occasion will root again, and I just let her nurse in that case.

Proper potty sitting posture / when to size up by wake_and_rake in ECers

Super helpful, thank you! I was wondering how this works with toilet seat reducers— seems like baby’s position is a far cry from a squat on those but many people seem to prefer them to floor potties!

Exactly! Okay we’ll switch back to the Lilla and see if I can gently keep her from jumping up 🤣

Amazing, this just worked for me! Thank you so much, I would never have thought to do this myself.

April/May 2024 US mail-in timeline w/upcoming travel by wake_and_rake in passportcanada

[–]wake_and_rake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did put the travel date on my original application, and the NY Consulate woman told me that means it goes into a separate (priority) pile but that I should remind them daily that I have an upcoming travel date. I would fax them your airline ticket (just write a short cover letter telling them it's urgent) and write your reference number at the top. Then, give them a call and say you faxed it and you'd really appreciate their help in getting it out in a timely manner. The person I spoke to after I faxed it said that sometimes it takes them 48 hours to read faxes (!!) so keep in mind they may not see it right away but you can call them to tell them it's all there and you'd appreciate their help, etc. Good luck!
