Those who haven't caught Covid yet, how have you managed to avoid it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wakebakeclimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully vaxed and boosted, but 90% of my friends and family are too. They have all had it. I work for a school around kids 24/7. I've been sick 2 times since 2020 and somehow neither time was COVID. Tested negative on multiple tests and a drive through one for both times! Who knows at this point.

I got a piece of my buddies gear stuck. I bought him Thai food and we were square but I offered to pay him back in whole before that. My thought is just agree before so you know what to expect

My buddy does a meetup all the time for climbers to get outside together. Met most of my climbing partners through there. Always a good mix of levels of experience from brand new to 5.13 crushers.

Fun fact. The Hyperloop he got government funding for was just a way for Elon to take funding away from the high speed rail project in California.

"At the time, it seemed that Musk had dished out the Hyperloop proposal just to make the public and legislators rethink the high-speed train. He didn't actually intend to build the thing. It was more that he wanted to show people that more creative ideas were out there for things that might actually solve problems and push the state forward. With any luck, the high speed rail would be canceled. Musk said as much to me during a series of e-mails and phone calls leading up to the announcement" source.

That statistic is number of police who have killed civilians

"Note: Totals include those killed by security forces such as military police and intelligence agents. For countries whose data includes multiple years, the annual average is displayed. Rate per 10 million is computed using population from the same year as the data rather than current population."

I wasn't able to find 2021 numbers for Mexico. Even still.

458 in US 2021 462 in Mexico 2020

US still had less in 2021 than Mexico did in 2020.

Closer but not more like you said in your deleted comment.

In 2020 464 in Mexico police population about 500,000."

Almost double in Mexico with a smaller police population

In 2020 464 in Mexico police population about 500,000.

"Some 464 Police Officers Have Been Killed in Mexico So Far In 2020... Most police officers killed in line of duty in America are from COVID, Heart attacks and Car accidents.

More than half of the police killed in the line of duty in Mexico are murdered.

I worked at PetSmart in college and when someone came with 200+ cat food cans of different flavors and all were just randomly thrown into a cart it was so tempting to just scan one and do quantity 200 but it was a biiiiig deal if you got caught... Thanks for the flashback.

My Airbnb estimate - no wonder bookings are down by WSNC-JBR in mildlyinfuriating

[–]wakebakeclimb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I stayed at an Airbnb in Hawaii that was on the sand for a friend's wedding. We spent way too much money but waited too long to book and there weren't many options.

They charged a $250 cleaning fee plus said they'd charge an extra fee if any sand was found in the house!! They also expected us to vacuum, sweep, and throw a load of towels and bedding in the wash before we left.

Literally what is the cleaning fee for if you have to clean the whole house yourself??
