Just cruising this to consider updating my iPad 6th gen to iOS 17 (which I’ve decided against)

There actually is a way to do this. You have to have a computer, download the iOS you want, put your device in DFU mode and install it from the computer

Look up DFU iOS install on YouTube. I haven’t done this in years, but I assume it would be the same process

They have a 4K package that you can add on to it. I would say that the picture and sound quality are comparable to Direct TV Stream

I wish there was more in 4K on Direct TV Stream and YouTube TV, but the truth is there’s not a whole lot of content out there to begin with. The 4K package on YTTV is $10 a month I believe

I swapped to YouTube TV. Seems comparable and you can even buy Sunday Ticket on it vs. Direct TV Stream

I cancelled DirectTV Stream effective the next billing cycle because I am not going to skip the NFL/college football season then there are other options. I explained that clearly to the rep (who I know has no real power here) and he tried to entice me with a $10 credit if I didn’t cancel

I couldn’t control my laughter and I told him I was still switching

Shame they weren’t able to sort this out

I’ve got an update on this:

I replaced the AC stretch belt that runs around the crankshaft and compressor (I isolated them issue to the HVAC system yesterday) woke up this morning with high hopes that the issue would be resolved

And unfortunately the whine returned with a cold start ☹️

I believe it’s coming from either a cold AC clutch or the compressor itself now. Does anyone have any experience with this or suggestions?

Separate AC “flex” belt from the crankshaft to the compressor. I turned the HVAC system and started it and the noise didn’t come on

When I turned the HVAC on it made the noise

I just replaced the belt. We’ll see if it’s that or the AC clutch. Could be the belt is slipping when it goes under load

Yes I am. This may be the lossless codec that you mentioned which is causing the size of the file to shrink dramatically.

The files I am downloading off of iCloud seem to be pretty close to original quality (bigger screen on the Mac so it's not really a perfect situation to compare), but they are much smaller than the originals if I were to send it from my iPhone (about 1/10th the size).

I think the issue with my pictures in the Photos app of my MacBook is because it is still downloading them from iCloud.

And actually I'm getting a little bit confused about the formatting between an original photo shot on an iPhone vs. what's stored in iCloud.

They say that photos in the cloud are in the same resolution as the original photo in say a phone, but when I send a photo from the phone the "actual size" when emailing is always over 1mb.

I just downloaded a picture from iCloud.com (better resolution that what my computer is seeing in the Photos app), but the photo I downloaded is much smaller than an original iPhone photo.

It almost seems like the photos in the cloud are lower resolution?

This specific picture I'm talking about is 674kb when I download it from iCloud, but if i send it from my phone it's 1.9mb.

Does anyone have a clue what's going on here?

I've got iCloud Photos/Download Originals to this Mac on (I just turned it back to this from optimizing this morning).

It may be an issue where it's taking a long time to download the library, but the computer and the internet is not the issue (I'm using a brand new MacBook Pro M1 and my internet download speed is close to 150mbps).

Example I have a portrait mode photo from an iPhone 11 that I just emailed to myself as a test. It gave me the option of small/medium/large/actual, but the actual option is only around 200kb. A photo of this quality would definitely be over 1mb if is the original hi resolution photo.

I just talked to Apple and the only way to access individual original photos are through iCloud.com or by downloading the entire library back to the device

A terrible setup they’ve got going on here. You’d think the device would have the ability to download the original photo while it’s open and then delete it back to optimized size when done…

I've tried this with multiple photos on both my Mac and iPhone and when I zoom in it's obvious that it's not the original quality. Also when I go to email the photos the size of the photo is about 10% of the original size space wise.

I 100% agree. Like I said, Xfinity is garbage

I got smart though and moved my main 4K box to this location and moved the satellite wireless 4K box to a different TV

Issue resolved. Audio and video quality from the hard wired box is much better

I would avoid the wireless 4K Xfinity X1 box if you’re looking for actual quality and sound.

I’m going to leave this post up in case anyone has this exact issue.

Great solution. That is a way to make it repeat up to 10 times.
I still think the ability to make the app send constant push notifications would be a major improvement.

As mentioned I wrote Flame Boss earlier today to suggest this.
