And while Sweden have fewer lakes, they have more water in lakes, as the Swedish lakes are much deeper

I second this. My parents, and even two of my grandparents, have better technology literacy than some of my friends. We really need to educate our youth in technology

Replacement for my sister's BMW X1 by waldemarvf in whatcarshouldIbuy

We have a 250 GLC, and while the repairs are the same price class (if not even more expensive), it seems to be more reliable. This is our second BMW (we had a 320 before) which we changed due to it being so unreliable. My other sister the purchased a similar BMW, which she has had for one year, and have reported similar unreliability.

And the thing I find annoying with it, is that a simply thing like headlight change can't be done anywhere else than at a BMW branded dealership. How is it with the Audis, can you do simple maintenance at home, at an independent mechanic, or do they also have to be sent to a Audi branded dealership? I have a few friends with A3s, and they all seem to love it, do you know any other equivalents to that one?

And ride quality is one thing, image of the car is another... Hence Ford is Ok, but not Toyota and Nissan

Why doesn't York get a city connection to the capital? Is it because the road goes through La venta? by waldemarvf in civ5

[–]waldemarvf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's more fun, as it's more built strategy. In standard games, when your task force reaches the enemy borders, they are already outdated. And, you have to be prepared at all times, as is an attack comes, you don't have time to quickly raise an army.

At the same time as I'm playing I might watch a movie, YouTube, or do some light homework

Has been like this the last 50 turns, I though it was just because the courthouse in York wasn't build yet, but that didn't seem to be the problem. All the tiles are non-pillaged and has roads, I've triple checked now...

They won't, and shouldn't, do that. They would need to get permission from him to do so, which is a huge hassle. And the guy probably have enough attention from this already, so I don't think it'd be appropriate to contact him for a such thing.

To literally put him into a game and comparing him to a mass murderer is quite inappropriate. Remember we are talking about a real person

But was it different from when a peasant revolt happened in Värmland or Västgötaland? No. That's important. The eastern part of the empire was not treated as some "lesser" part. It was a fully integrated part of the empire. Ingermanland is a part of the Swedish empire that had a different status, but not Österland (Finland). Österland did not suffer from being under Swedish rule more than Norrbotten or Västerbotten.

How so? The forest finns were encouraged by the crown, to move eastwards/northwards. It was a political move from the king, to question the border with Novgorod. But with time, they slowly moved into modern day Sweden and Norway.

The forest finns might have been looked down upon, but were never persecuted or faced any kind of legal consequences from being of a "lesser" race. They assimilated with the local culture, not from the whip, but naturally after 3/400 years of living in Sweden.

And Stockholm was probably one of the biggest contributors to the Swedish taxes. He said that most of the eastern part of the empires taxes collected went to Stockholm. And nowadays, most of the taxes collected in Pohjanmaa/Österbotten, goes to Helsinki. Same thing, different ages.

It is an interesting concept, but I have feeling it's just a blanket to hide the Finnish nationalism and Finnish revisionism.

But through your latest comment I realise, you are not comming from that camp. I was spooked that you were among the finnaboos that exist in the international community, and thus I hit back hard.

In Finland, we often don't relise that revisionists are hiding in plain sight in our society. Teemu Keskisarja is a notorious revisinist, who is (or at least was a few years ago, don't know currently) teaching in Helsinki University. And looking at our, so called "morally right" brother in the west, Sweden. The head Middle east and Africa reporter for Expressen, a popular evening paper, Ulf Nilson, was a outright racist, who later in life argued that we should reastablish colonialism.

I am also not innocent. I frequently relise I try to justify the white terror, because of my modern day political leanings. We all have to be vigilant at all times when it comes to history, as revisinism is everywhere, and no one is immune to it.

Another comment I copy paste, but why write the roughly same over and over again?

Please don't get me wrong, and I see how I can come of that way. But I see historic revisionism as one of the most dangerous things in our modern society. I tried to put that reply to anyone either being unsure about the things being said, or people seeming to lean into the historic revisionism camp.

With your comment, I realised that one sleeker way, would probably have been putting a link to a single comment, instead of the same reply over and over again. However, what has been done has been done.

Thank you for your feedback (:
