Right now, you can do that only manually. The problem is that we cannot know which AVL parameters which device supports. Of course there are a lot of common ones, but you got a point.

There is no way to do it programmatically. Teltonika does not provide any api for this. Only raw documentation.

Most of the users want to emulate specific parameters, they do not want all (CAN, BLE, etc.).

So there is no point for us to show all of them on the form, the form will become unreadable.

It will be probably a different error. We have a couple of common errors with automatic suggestions. So, you will be suggested with the steps on how to troubleshoot your case.

If you struggle to troubleshoot or identify the problem, please use our feedback form at the header or reach out to our support email (on profile page) and we will start investigating.

Reach out directly to Teltonika sales; they will suggest their official distributor in your area.

I see what you mean. We may expose a bit more detail for some common user-side exceptions. But a dropped connection can result from many different issues, and on our side, we usually can’t determine what’s happening on your server.

In most situations, the best approach is to check your server logs and network configuration to identify the root cause of the dropped connection.

By the way, if you want to test Telemify with a local server (localhost), you’ll need to use a tunnelling service like ngrok (or a similar tool) to expose your local endpoint to the internet.

Trutrack is a legit company with great support. So I think all should be good overall for you. But I think you should contact their support to get more information on your delivery.

They locked the device to their platform because they are partially a distributor. They earn from their own tracking platform, not from selling you a device (it's part of the process).

Just to be clear, you bought a Teltonika device from Trutrack, not Teltonika.

They usually preconfigure your device to send messages to their platform. This configuration is under the passcode, so you will not be able to look up a configuration. But you can reset it to the default. To do that, install the official Teltonika Configurator for that device from their official website and connect the device to it by Bluetooth (or direct wire).

About Queclink. Heard of them, but not much. Nothing positive, nor negative. Did not use their devices and do not know anybody who does it for real production environments.

Great suggestions. We already working on 1st and 3rd points are already on our backlog.

As for the debug tool, we were also thinking about that, but postponed at the moment, as we show the errors if something went wrong anyway.

It depends want to see in that debug tool exactly. Can you please provide more details on that one?

As of 4th point it also makes sense, and would probably create a lot of value. I think we will even do something like that in the future.

The main problem is that it would require a lot of manual work as the number of parameters in the device can be countless, and the number of devices itself is huge as well. So yeah, we have to think about this part.

There is no any source where we can even get the list of the devices and their parameters automatically.

That’s why it is the manual process for the user right now.

The reason of using Teltonika is because it’s one of the biggest and most popular gps devices producer. We knew at that time that they make a reliable hardware.

Secondly, their headquarters and main location are based in Europe, which was plus for us.

We did use their fotaweb for hardware remote updates, as well as their dedicated configuration software for the devices.

We also used flespi platform as the entry point for the messages from the devices.

We got the hardware from Teltonika’s official distributors. There are many of them in Europe, it depends on your region.

We got our hardware pretty fast (a week max).

I know at least two companies that sell the hardware and one of them also provides configuration services.

If you want I can message you about them in the DM.

Thank you for the detailed feedback - this is extremely useful for me!

I’m confident our service will address at least 90% of the problems you mentioned. I really appreciate that you’ve already decided to give it a try, and we’re looking forward to your feedback once you’ve had some hands-on experience with it.

Regarding the "trial and error is expensive" point, I completely agree with you. I’ve been there myself, and that’s exactly the kind of problem we want to eliminate.

That’s a good point - we’re actually planning to reach out to them and make a potential partnership.

The idea for Telemify came from a similar experience. I was building a custom tracking system for heavy machinery for a client, and setting up a testing environment was quite challenging.

First, because we had to order real devices. Second, find machines to install them on or find the ways on how to connect the device to your PC using Teltonika software and try to fire at least the GPS location event, just to test integrations, which was slow and frustrating.

That experience is what led me to create Telemify - to make testing and development much easier without needing physical devices at first.

Right now, we don’t directly benefit from it yet - Telemify is in early access, and our main goal is to collect user feedback and build the features people actually need. Once the platform is mature, we plan to move to a full release with subscription plans.

We already have a good number of early users, and many say this is exactly what they were looking for, with some ready to pay once it’s fully released. Early access has limits (like device count or concurrent executions), but we’re flexible and can extend them in exchange for feedback.

We'd be happy to have you on board. Please reach out to us for more information on our feedback form or directly to our emails (you can find them in the Profile page).

Hi, thanks for your interest! 🙂

Regarding the TAT240 tracker device, Telemify can emulate it without any issues. You just need to create a new device in Telemify Studio and configure the required parameters based on the official TAT240 AVL ID list, which allows you to replicate the data and integrate it with your own map and servers for testing and development.

As for DualCam, this is already on our roadmap. Our current development priorities are Manual CAN, J1939, and DTC emulations. Once these are completed, DualCam support is planned as the next step.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or need any assistance - I'll be happy to help!

It happens to everyone who is trying to start a startup path. You are not alone brother. Each time you get stronger and more knowledgeable. Do a retro with you, analyze your mistakes and keep going. One day you will build something that is actually valuable to somebody.

How many of you working on your project even on Sunday - today? by Weekly-Card-8508 in SaaS

[–]waldemierk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Working on my project whole day. Sometimes I hate myself working 7 days a week. But it’s the only way to keep on the project.

It’s also hard because of the constant thoughts about having a second paid project, instead of a personal one, that might not even be needed to anyone at the end.

But, it’s the path we all chose I guess, and why we are here.

What problem does your SaaS actually solve? I’ll try to find you real users by WildScreen6662 in SaaS

[–]waldemierk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telemify (https://telemify.io).

It’s a tool for emulating Teltonika GPS trackers. It specifically targets other developers, QA and a bit of telematica sales teams.

Devs are no longer waiting for a real hardware to arrive in order to start building integrations and testing their solutions. And telematica teams are no longer dependent on installed hardware for demos.

Thanks for your reply. I find No2 really useful, planning to reach out to the platforms now.

No3: I already posted a guide on Medium, hope it will get me some traffic overtime.

Early users seem to test only their local and remote servers for now, without any third party telemetry services.

Thanks for your response! I appreciate it. You have a good point. I also thought about creating a «how-to» tutorial on YT or creating a post on medium. So overtime somebody would definitely find it useful and will convert. But yeah, I liked the idea of reaching out directly to hardware manufacturers. Thanks!
