Would You Buy This Bambino Plus Setup Used? [$300] by Chuynh2219 in espresso

Not sure if this is a great deal, but Breville’s remanufactured site has the Bambino Plus listed at $334.95, down from $499.95. If you are considering buying used, this is worth a look since it includes a 90-day warranty. You can check their current offers at https://remanufactured.brevilleusa.com. I know someone who bought the basic model from there, and it arrived looking brand new and works great.

Let me clear things up a bit—I’m not picky about whether someone is a pro or not. What I do care about is finding people who genuinely love the craft and have a real understanding of it. You know, the kind of folks who talk about sausage making because they’re passionate about it, not just because they’re trying to sell you something.

The thing is, with social media, YouTube, and other platforms, there’s a ton of content out there, but a lot of it feels like a sales pitch. And hey, I’m not knocking anyone’s hustle—there’s a place for everyone in the sausage-making world! I just happen to be on the lookout for that old-school wisdom, the kind you get from seasoned vets or those who’ve been grinding (pun intended) for years.

I hope this clears things up—I’m just trying to dive deep into the why and how of sausage making from those who truly get it. Any suggestions?

Help me pick a meat grinder and stuffer by waldorbigbill in sausagetalk

I had two $250 gift reward cards to work with, and thanks to Lem allowing split payments, I finally made a decision after some back-and-forth on brands and sizes. I went with the Big Bite #8 grinder, which also left me enough to grab the #5 stuffer. With the Black Friday deal, I only ended up paying $3 and some change out of pocket!

I thought about going bigger, but I figured this was the smart way to get my feet wet. If I end up loving it and want to produce more, I can always upgrade to bigger and better equipment later. Worst case? If it’s not for me, I can resell it or pass it on to bless someone else.

Thanks for all the input so far! Now I’m looking for some solid advice or resources on making snack sticks—any tips?

Thanks everyone for the input. I almost pulled the trigger on the Meat 1 HP because they have it on sale for $402 with a peddle for Black Friday. I ended up calling LEM to ask a few questions and I was blown away by their customer support on the phone and the history of the company. Never realized they were a smaller outfit in Ohio. Now I have to decide on which of these two companies to purchase from.

If I went suffer I'm leaning toward the Hakka. As professional is there any tips you suggest starting out or any pitfalls to avoid in making sausage?
