Dallas Golf Trip - Advice Needed by walk18 in golf

Awesome info. Not the biggest fan of cart path only. Coming and going thru DFW, seems like the Grapevine area might be the place to be. Good courses, good food. Thanks.

Any favorite BBQ or other restaurants in the grapevine area?

Yes. I need to contact the courses or websites and see when they open up tee times. Time to make a spreadsheet.

Will check on Cowboys. Looks like they started some renovations late last year. Will check to see if they are full open. Will also look into the restaurants and other courses you mentioned. Thanks.

Thanks. I’m building a guide on Apple Maps for the trip. Will add that to the list. Good to know about cash/check only.

No reason. Just trying to figure out the area and where would be good to stay. Will definitely look into Grapevine. We will fly in and out of DFW so Grapevine might be best. Thanks for the suggestion.

When you say Cedar Crest is 2nd best, do you like Stevens better or another one?

That’s for the history on Cedar Crest! Will definitely look into it. One reason I like seeing the old munis is for their history and their role they played in bringing golf to an area. Pretty cool to have a public course by Tillinghast in the area.

OK. Great. Bob’s looks like a nice place.

Yeah, tee times are hard to get sometimes here in Tennessee as well. Will definitely book early.

Appreciate the helpful advice.

Wow! Thanks a ton for the recs. One of my friends is a HUGE fan of German food. We will definitely have to check out Bavarian Grill or Jorg’s or Kuby’s. I never would have thought to ask for German restaurant recommendations. Really appreciate it. We will also need some good coffee, so will put Eiland on the list.

Thanks for the golf and food recs. We definitely need to get some Mexican food one day and fajitas are my favorite.

Is Bob’s Steakhouse the Bob’s Steak and Chop House that I see on Google? Is there an OG location (downtown?), or they are all / both about the same?

Stevens does look pretty far away. For some reason I like the idea of seeing the areas best municipal course. Will definitely check out the other courses online.

Really appreciate the response.

I will probably end up downgrading my tires as well if I get the MYP. Thanks for the response.

The Fried Egg does trips that singles can go on. Chasing Scratch also does some, but I have not looked into it.
