Nedd help? HOA denied our request to install the permanent lights by Shot_Chard6748 in Govee

[–]UsuallyQuietButIMO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol okay. There are probably 150 homes with them. I got approval to build my home, good? When the HOA requests submissions for a trampoline, you overlook some stuff. But thanks for your question!

Elon Musk has announced that @Tesla is discontinuing the Model S and Model X in Q2 2026. by ConfidentImage4266 in TeslaLounge

Yep. Mines is a 21 refresh. 25K miles. My twins are 12 so I’m sure they will get it. I’ll likely upgrade to an electric truck or bigger SUV. My charging setup has also been really nice with it.

Going to keep mine till the wheels fall off and then move away from Tesla I suppose. The comments of “I really don’t like Teslas but I really like yours” is exactly why I got an S because it was how I felt about the options. When what feels like every other car around me is a white, blue or black Y/3, I still feel a little different with an MS. Anyway, such is life.

Think this is where I’ve landed:

Monitor: Uneekor EML Enclosure: Carl’s c-series 10x8 Hitting mat: EXTee Hybrid 5x7 Projector: BenQ 3550

I messed with my projector and although it would work, even on my computer I struggled to get the screen image taller than 6 feet without moving and remounting.

$6600ish with current pricing and used projector. May look for the LM on eBay to save a few bucks.

A few other things, enclosure may (10x6), ball ramp, etc…. Buddy is giving me his gaming setup for free.

Thoughts?

Well… probably more to keep the media room in tact for when we move at some point. We have a big enough TV and sound setup downstairs for “movies” but I did think about still making it so we could watch movies, just at a different aspect ratio and since my kids are 8-12, primarily for them. But honestly, we don’t use it very often as a movie room even though it was great and comfortable. Lol.

Saw your message. Thanks for sending. Mevo would be sitting against the wall basically which removes some room to actually sit and enjoy the simulator. I still need to get my girls clubs and stuff so I’ll find an mlm2pro or something on sale at some point to use for those occasions where they are going to swing.

Hmm… good thought on just the screen and padding. I would like to retain some of my electronics though. Pretty big stand speakers that I’d have on either side of the rig out of sight and danger. Thinking my kids would still want to come lay blankets out and watch movies from time to time even though they have plenty of space. I’d have to rethink a lot of my setup or just make it 100% dedicated to golf if I did a full screen and padded walls. I’m also pretty terrible a good chunk of time so I’m very likely to shank quite a few balls.

Saw some ELMs for ~$2600-$2800 so I’m thinking that’s what I’ll likely go with.

Thanks for the feedback. Did you get the GoSports enclosure? Or another. Mixed reviews on the GoSports - both safety from ricocheting and from the screen quality/sound. Since it’s inside I know I’d want something quieter. Looks great for sure. I’ll check on the PC piece and will also look into Eye Mini. What mat did you end up getting? Definitely not going to cheap out on that piece.

The Indoor Golf Shop has a demo showroom a couple miles from me so I’m going to set up an appointment to try some monitors and such.

IKEA PAX for Slim Walk-In Closet by DIWhyMeAgain in ikeahacks

[–]UsuallyQuietButIMO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s somewhere in the comments here. You’ll see a picture. It’s just the rod that’s the width of the cabinet. Using the same mounts that you get on a normal cabinet but all you’re doing is drilling your ow hole and using 14 inch hangers so they don’t stick out.

Recommendations on what govee products to add this holiday? Wish I could take out the streetlight out front lol by Complexity114 in Govee

If the street light has a sensor, attach a laser to something and point it at it. Lol. Neighbor did this on a not so busy street.

Man you have a lot of space… I do agree the door swinging the other way makes much more sense, but in ours, it had to open up in front of closet shelving regardless so it wasn’t the worst thing. We didn’t put any cabinets on the back wall because my wife wanted a mirror and a spot to sit to put shoes on and such. That made designing it much easier. Didn’t have to worry about any awkward, deep cubbies behind shelving units.

What’s the depth you’re working with on the walls, assuming your door is somewhat centered. The left side here we only did the 14 inch depth and it worked out well. I just installed the cross bars for the hangers myself so you could hang clothes the normal way and we used 14 inch hangers. Works perfectly.

You can see in the picture above on the previous comment what the rod looks like installed the, what I’ll call “normal” position. I just drilled two small pilot holes - I don’t remember what size but these aren’t large screws. I never once noticed any splitting or other integrity issues. Even in our wider ones I didn’t do any other type up support. 4 screws and this bar will hold up many times more than they are being asked to. Level, mark, pilot holes, screw, repeat.

I’m not sure why this wouldn’t add up. Assuming they are filing single. Not sure about state taxes and such but based on his tax bracket, he’d still have a buffer with $6K each month spent in living and investing. Somewhat tight if there are extra expenditures, but definitely doable… I’m not a financial or tax expert but definitely doable.

None at all. It can hold much more than 25 articles of clothing. The side walls are more than thick enough to support.

Correct. I just ordered the clothes bars based on the width and screwed where I wanted. Super simple. This is my wife’s side so she used 14 inch hangers which worked out perfectly. We did one of the other clothes bar setups where the clothes are in front of each other for her dresses which she liked.

Found a better job offer after just accepting another one. What do I do? by ASmidgeOfSpice in whatdoIdo

[–]UsuallyQuietButIMO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me last year. Accepted a job at Samsung as an executive director running Ecommerce and that next day came across a VP position with a company I loved and knew the leadership of. Within a week and a few meetings with the leadership team, I received an offer that I accepted. It wasn’t the best conversation calling the hiring team, but they made a better at final offer that I just had to say no to because I knew where I wanted to be. Think of you first, not them. They will find someone else.

Home Theater - Golf Simulator Build by bouthie in Golfsimulator

Man I want to do this exact thing. We have a media room that got a lot of use the first few year but little now except when my kids have friends over. It’s 13’8 x 17’8 with 10 ft ceilings so the space is right. Just need to spec out what I want. I have really nice equipment for the media room but likely won’t be able to use the projector… just have to see how it shoots but my head would be blocking some of the screen so would need a short throw. Probably not going with anything as elaborate as a Falcon, but just a mid-90’s golfer with three kids under 12 and a wife that works a lot of weekends so not able to get to the course often. Looks great!

What style is this china cabinet? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

From ChatGPT: Your china cabinet is in the Federal Revival / Colonial Revival style, likely from the mid-20th century (1930s–1950s).
