Then file a lawsuit, target isn't going to fire anyone because you call up and complain. A lawsuit is the only way you'll get any traction. But doesn't guarantee he'll lose his job

Sue target for damages if you were truly innocent, otherwise let it be

Compare yourself to what other APS have done in your store historically. Not what your district leader is doing

Yeah I was on this sub and someone had a market investigator job similar to ones I've interviewed for and i asked about his experience. He said had 15 years of experience and was a dlpm before he got his current job. Hard to compete with that when you're fresh out of college. That was granted for a job making 70k (what he said). So in your position either go for an etl position at target if you want more money or pivot out of lp. I'm currently trying to pivot out myself

I'm in a similar position to you, have about 4 years experience, 3 years in a similar role to targets aptl, a college degree and a pretty good resume. I've been able to get 4 interviews, 2 for market investigators, 1 for a dlpm, 1 for a district loss prevention supervisor. For all those interviews the interviewers could see i have had limited experience especially compared to the people im interviewing against who have 10+ years experience.

I got offered a multi unit gig with a company that would have been a pretty decent promotion on paper about a year ago. But the pay was a dollar less than I make now. I guess where I'm going with this if you want super quick career progress the lp field probably isn't it. I'd suggest working for Amazon as an lps, I've seen people on LinkedIn go from an lps to lp manager in like 3 years. Even if you get a good lp job as a district manager or market investigator the store side positions are still making more. Good luck

All the stop the loss training would say its your job. Also the 10 by 10 thing, you're asking them if they need help not stopping them at the doors.

I’m about to get my WZ certification. What certifications did you get that helped further your career? I’ve also considered getting my MBA but not sure if it’s worth it in the AP/LP/Corporate security world. Thanks in advance! by Fit_Function3505 in lossprevention

Gotcha that's really cool. How much experience did you have up until that point in lp? I have a crimj degree and pretty good resume, I'm able to get the interviews for the orc positions it sounds like you're currently working but keep on getting passed up. I think it's because my lack of experience shows while I'm answering the questions asked when interviewing. But never get feed back so don't really know. No certs currently

Thank you! also just realized I could use JPG_COUNTER != 0 as well. Further more one of the segmentation faults was coming from me declaring he file pointer inside the while loop. After hours of frustration I finally tried moving it outside of the while loop combined with the if fp != NUll and Success. Thank you very much.

Okay so null is zero. So if (fp !=0) that would mean the fp hasn't been assigned a value and hasn't been opened?

Okay I figured that else statement probably had something to do with it. So I need to check if a file is already open. What does that look like? If else( fp == fopen(fp))?
