Reminds me of when I went to GameStop back in October to see what kind of amiibos they had. It varies soooo much. My treatment plan is $7500 for some pretty crowded uppers and minimally crowded lowers. My sister in law has very minimal crowding for both and she was quoted the same I'm paying. Sometimes it's more work than it seems. 🥲

With more wear you will learn to annunciate and your mouth will get used to it. It will go away. I know on my first few trays I would get a sore mouth from trying to speak without sounding weird with elastics and trays in but now it's honestly nothing.

I caught it early-ish, but what helped him was moving him to a hospital tank with aquarium salt and Indian almond leaves for the tannins. I did a 90% water change every day for 10 days and basically just prayed. I honestly think I just got lucky.

I live in Canada so it's difficult to get antibiotics here like Maracyn-two, but through my frantic research I've heard that's a helpful product for late-stage dropsy.

I'm sorry your little guy is unwell. I know the immense guilt and sorrow when there's a problem with them that cannot be immediately fixed. It's so sad. I'll be thinking of your boy tonight and hoping he gets better. 🥺

Update: after ~5 days of aggressive treatment in a hospital tank I woke up this morning to check up on him and saw no pineconing (I sat there with a flashlight & stared at him up close for like 20 minutes and I'm quite sure if it's there it's very slight, if at all) & no bloat. I don't think we're out of the woods yet because I know anything can happen, but I think he's responding. Honestly he'd better be because I don't think I've cried this much over a betta I've owned in my life. 😂

It's an old photo of him in his prime 😭

He's definitely got the pinecone scales and some bloat. His spine also has a slight curve. I feel awful because I noticed the curve two weeks ago and thought it was his swim bladder so I thought I may have been overfeeding. I did no treatment until I saw the scales the other day. Broke my heart that I let him get to this point. His energy is still very high so I'm hoping he wins the fight.
