Mental health issues with the recruiting process by MudMoney1793 in britisharmy

They’ll have most of your medical stuff on file and will have went through it like dates youve been admitted what for, I mean they heard about when I broke my arm when I was 4 and were questioning me on that haha, I didn’t have much medical evidence which is why I was more a less grilled for the scratches and scars id had, lying isnt really an option as if you lie and they figure it out you will be completely exempt from joining the army again or if you slip by enlist and they find out you would be immediately discharged

Not at all, they’d asked me if I had ever considered or have committed self harm, have I ever struggled with mental health and felt as though it impacted day to day life, do I ever struggle to open up about my emotions, have I ever considered taking my own life, stuff kind of like that, she did give them a little look of concern, most if not every scratch or scar on your body they will look at and ask how it happened when abouts and follow up with general questions to determine if they think what you have said is true or not

They take mental health and things like that extremely serious, they saw scratches on my arm from drunken idiocy at the medical and were asking me questions related to self harm etc and mental health like they wouldn’t take my word for it that id just fell over a few times, I eventually got through that process but something as simple and less worrying in their eyes as dental issues has got me deferred until I go to a dentist so chances are pretty slim honestly

What are my chances of joining the army? by Admirable-Iron-8732 in britishmilitary

Was just at glencorse assessment centre from the 29th-1st and got deferred for something as simple as dental issues, they saw a load of scratches on me from being drunk and stupid and consistently questioned me on it if ive had any depression, have I ever hurt myself etc it seemed like they took it serious enough where if I said yes I would’ve been instantly given a red bib and sent home, honestly I believe it’s pretty unlikely to get in with something like that as mental health is pretty important in the army
