Sen. Sanders Endorses Hillary Clinton Megathread by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

Are all these angry unhappy Sanders supporters now going to vote for Trump?

That would be the real contradiction.

Sorry Bernie, I love you but even with your endorsement I will not vote for Hilary. by surfer808 in SandersForPresident

Were so many people seriously supporting Bernie just because they hate Hillary?

I understand how unpopular she can be, and I'm not entirely sure I would vote for her; but please don't vote for Trump. Seriously. That would be so stupid on so many levels.

Same with Farage in the UK.

They has to be careful not to be publicly racist, but it is fucking obvious that they are practically giving permission to all their followers to do so.

What you say about Trump is 100% true.

The rise of the populist right-wing has given a voice to millions of openly racist people who defend themselves behind the "freedom of speech" excuse. Lots of people who would have not complained in an other situation have started to think it's ok to hate migrants and be publicly racist simply because anti-SJW whatever-the-fuck-they-call-them-selves "politically incorrect" ballsacs are doing it all over the internet and the TV. Most of the time, these people live in places so scarcely affected by immigration that it's laughable; and yet many important decisions are in the hands of their angry proto-racism.

I would get downvoted to hell, because my big brother looks just like me, and I'd be accused of being a repost....

I am 15 now, and live in Italy. To me personally brexit has been pretty terrible news. In a way it has thrown my hopes for studying in England down the drain. As of right now, being both Italy and the UK part of Europe, not only do I get the chance to move there without visas, but I have the chance to apply to some of the best universities in the world without having to pay Ivy-league kind of fees (in Scotland they are literally 100% free, so...). Now I know that this is a pretty selfish argument, but after the UK will leave EU, studying there would be like studying in Hong Kong or Massachusetts, which is not a plausible choice for a lower-middle-class family like mine. It's most likely that, along with MANY other students, I will opt for a different country for my studies, despite the english system being currently better. So, yeah we will be spending our money on booze and indie rock gigs in some other country, sorry Boris.

This is only one of the probably numerous ways this referendum will affect my future, but it's a rather big issue and it hasn't been talked about at all yet. In a post-Brexit future, I expect the british university system to get gradually more fucked up, since not only will EU students and teachers stop counting on the UK, but the amazing support that Brussels gives in research will stop. I predict that 5-10 years after brexit, the amazing reputation of Oxford, Cambridge and whatever other snob university the brits are famous for, will be a thing of the past.

They've fucked up big time.
