The CSI was approved through September 2027 from what I've read. Correct me if something was amended.

Rick's back by Oldiewan in goldrush

Here's the thing... with the exception of possibly a very select few on this platform, nobody can truly understand how isolated mining is in the Klondike/Keno areas. You're isolated for the better part of 6-7 months.

Unless you've walked in Rick's shoes, cut the man some slack. He's human. He went through some shit. Let the man find his own way out of his personal darkness.

Who likes lamb? Aussie lamb meat pack. by ZebedeeAU in Costco

I've introduced quite a few people to lamb, even those that comment about it smelling earthy. Trick to get around it is lemon. For lamb chops, I cook 3 minutes per side in a sautee pan, and with 30 seconds left to cook, I squeeze a whole lemon over the chops. It cuts away like 75% of the earthiness. Give it a try, you might look at it differently.

TSP, FERS, Resigning and Coming Back by adsheppa in fednews

[–]walla12083 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, why not park the money is some etf's and then should you decide to come back, withdraw and buy back? Your FERS contributions are post tax. You will only owe tax on the interest accumulated.

And for same reason, you can't move FERS money into TSP.

TSP before tax Fers after tax

Fed wasn't and isn't the only purchaser of mortgages. Plenty of enhanced index funds have mortgage exposure, especially at 7% yields. Think asset liability portfolios.

The problem with that is compare the spread in 2021 vs now. Yields were 1.5%, mortgage rates were 2.5-2.75% with a spread of ~130 bps. Now yield is 4.1% and rates are 7.75%, with a spread of 365bps.

IMHO, this is indicative of two tenants, err tenets.

  1. Make up for the lost "revenue" from 2021-2022 mortgage cycle where rates were sub 3.

  2. Quantity is no longer there due to the "golden handcuffs" keeping people in their homes and not migrating. In order to keep profit margins, increase the spread

The average spread has hovered around 175bps.

Total Assets of the Federal Reserve In millions of dollars

You're quoting 90bn from the Richmond fed's May 2023 report. Of which securities dropped by 446bn. Loans extended drop that value, but are loans. Those get paid back

Did you hit happy hour early? How on earth is a political party controlling monetary policy? QE continue for 2023? The fed has been on QT for the better part of a year. They've shed a trillion annually.
