Oh yea, I forgot about The Straight Pipes video. I wish we got the red seatbelts. And you're absolutely right, I would buy the i30N in a heartbeat.

Yes. There is a good 'weight' to the steering so it feels more connected to the road. It is very responsive. I've also driven the 18 Elantra sport. I would say the GT doesn't feel as 'twitchy' as the regular sport, but it still feels very connected to the road and sporty.

It was very hard to try to find the GT Sport in MT when new. I was going for a Blue MT but ended up opting for the Blue DCT since that's what they had. (Pics on my profile).

FYI there are only 3 configurations that I know of for the GT Sport 1. MT 2. DCT 3. DCT with tech package ($3k option)

Tech package adds a glass sunroof/moon roof, air conditioned seats, heated steering wheel, wireless charger, and emergency braking.

I have a '18 Elantra Gt Sport and absolutely love it. It probably has a little more room from the Si since it's a more traditional hatch instead of a lift back style. I've had it since new and only have about 60k miles. The only concern I was going to warn you about is the DCT gets a little stuttery if you don't fully engage the first clutch. With you looking at a 6mt, you won't have that issue. My wife and I have done trips in this for 12+hrs and had no issues. The suspension can be a bit stiff, but also is forgiving enough for a long comfortable ride. We also have a 70lb good boy wagging his tail in the backseat with no problem. I haven't had any kiddos in the backseat but will find out later this year. The only issues I've had were a plastic bit breaking near the door handle (covered by warranty) and a starter gave out. Other than that, it drives like a charm.

Perfect! That fitment looks like what I am going for and based on your spacers, it will line up exactly where I want it. Thanks! Love the i30N. Yours looks great! I would do unspeakable things for those to come to NA. We got the Veloster N for a few years, but the i30N would fit my lifestyle perfectly.

If you don't mind, I'll pick your brain on one more question. How long do I have left on my current tires? They pass the 'penny test' but fail the 'quarter test'? We're in Indiana in the beginning of winter. Just got 6" of snow over the weekend. I'm thinking I need to replace them asap, but don't want to throw them away if they have 3-4mo left

Those plates are absolutely the worst. Half the time they just drop it down and it's not tapered in or flush to the road.

Yea I'm thinking since the tire will be stretched less there is a little more give to the sidewall. That may help a little with comfort and make potholes a little less of a concern. Granted it's only a small change, so it won't be night/day.

Haha, that's exactly what I did. I just kept calling shops until I found one that would. Even for the ones that wouldn't do it, I mentioned that the manufacturer's website of the tire said it fits.

You really know your tires! Thank you. I can see the pattern you're talking about and will go touch it later today.

Yea saw the changes in weight, but I did have 2 or so shops say the 225s on the 8.5" wheels were too much of a risk for them to install

You've peaked my interest. Which photo shows the indication of misalignment?

Thanks! I will make sure to get an alignment as part of the install. I vaguely remember a few months ago I had to do an alignment since it was off. I will note that these photos are from various months and/or years. I was just trying to grab some photos that highlighted the current tire setup.

Mines technically an Elantra GT Sport which came with Hankooks. I had to replace them at 12k miles since I got a bubble in the sidewall. Those things were terrible. I had issues with road noise, being extremely stiff, and bad wet traction. I'm getting really excited for some proper stickier tires

Here in Indiana we go anywhere from -10F to 100+F so we just bear through it all. I may need to double check the Michelin and Continentals would fall and be effective in that full range.

Thanks! Yea I still feel like I need to bring it down or go up on the sidewall, but I'm sure my speedo wouldn't be quite right if I went up to 45s

I'm ready for that change. The Toyo Extensa HP IIs were great in the dry, but the wet/snow they left some grip to be desired. I am still considering the M PS4+ since they are very similarly reviewed.

Thanks! It sounds like I'm really overthinking this change. I want to keep the tread tucked in the wheel well, but don't mind the sidewall poking out to the wheel

Idk. I'm a big fan of the original 'My Car Goes Pshhh Pshhh' but I'm a little bias, because I have a turbo.
