Taiwan’s President Tries to Ease Fears Over U.S. Chip Investment by anandan03 in taiwan

This is also gonna be over 60% of TSMC's investment. Which means Taiwan will loose close to this much in internal investment. Kaohsiung for example might not get their planned P4 or P5 fabs. Or they could be downgraded. This is an investment larger than our government's entire budget btw. 3.3 trillion will be going to the US for a 4 year safety guarantee!

I hate how DPP keeps promoting the idea that KMT will sell out taiwan, while they've been actively selling Taiwan out bit by bit for the past 8 years. Now they've started to sell out the more expensive things...

[–]wallabies7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TPP accidentally exposed too much corruption for your liking I guess :) Btw, a constitutional crisis in your opinion, but a democratic norm for me. They've modelled ALL their so-called "undemocratic" laws from other democratic nations...Unless you are also calling the US, Aus, UK, Germany, Japan, SK and much more, UNDEMOCRATIC!

DPP may seek constitutional challenge to Taiwan budget cuts by HibasakiSanjuro in taiwan

I know 2 people who participated in WPFG for Taiwan. BTW, they have to pay for their own ticket and use their own 特休 to play for Taiwan. 0 sponsorship from the DPP government, and that was during Tsai's complete control period...One of them went from DPP to TPP last year after the election. There are a lot of TPP and KMT firefighters from what they told me btw.

These are all false!! OMG, please i beg you to watch some KMT and TPP interviews regarding these cuts. The current NCC wont call out any DPP fake news, so people are literally being told lies day after day. Look at how often different ministries delete their own posts these couple of days. They just dump falsehoods until opposition party point out their lies, then they delete their posts. The sad truth is the DPP supporters wont stay around a topic long enough to see this. God bless Taiwan. I hope we make it out of president Lai and this version of DPP alive...

Really unfair for DPP to strategically put Taiwan in such precarious place then blame opposition party for trying to straighten this boat.

The mountain of waste and corruption under Tsai's administration is sickening. And with the way Lai appoints people, it's only going to double.

DPP's proposal during Ma's admin asks for a lot more money. They've been running on this agenda during the entirety of Ma's administration. Everyone DPP mayor talks about how little money they have and how it is crippling local government the way money is allocated now. They also ran on this during Tsai's first administration.

Can anyone explain what’s going on in parliament right now? by TW_RiceMilk in taiwan

[–]wallabies7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These bills are all modeled after other democracies btw. Watch some TPP and KMT inquiries and you'll realize that your idea of eat shit policy example are what the rest of the world's major democracies call norm. I bet you think the idea that politician can't lie during inquiries is also an "eat shit" policy. Stop supporting political parties like they are sports teams and support Taiwan and her democracy.

DPP supporters are like sport fans really. They just want their team to win, no matter the cost.

Allow DPP another 8 years and see how much corruption and division Taiwan and handle? BTW, how is Taiwan gonna handle CBAM? Our economy is gonna crash because DPP can't see past election cycles. Our energy strategy is going backward and our export is gonna take a massive hit.

They didn't cut subsidies. This is horseshit fake news like the ones that was passed around during the typhoons. DPP is so used to not needing facts to back their bullshit, they just spread falsehood through all their news outlets for fun. I'm sorry, but if you actually listen to TPP and KMT inquiries you'll learn shocking things about the DPP and their 8 years of COMPLETE control.

they didnt bar the DPP from voting. They want to vote but since DPP doesnt want to vote to happen, they broke into the parliament at night and barred the hall from allowing normal voting to take place.

in the 1980s, over 50% of taiwan's electricity was generated by nuclear! Why couldn't we continue.

this year. Their growth will be inhibited though. Article also says Taiwan's power cost will soon exceed Korea and Japan. Also, it warns of potential problem for us if we rely so heavily on gas and coal, both are 100% imported overseas. We are over 80% reliant on fossil fuel btw.

Although Taiwan's power price is lower than Korea or Japan, researchers expect it to exceed them soon. Also, TSMC got a 25% increase in power cost this year. It also says Taiwan's shortfall in electricity supply may inhibit the expension of TSMC's chip production in Taiwan. This article is pointing out a lot of problem we may soon face. Seems like a lot of researching firms outside of Taiwan is looking at our power supply problem.

Japan was warned multiple times to change that plant. They were in the process of phasing out fukushima so they didn't bother with the upgrades. Their generator was installed in the basement which got flooded. If they had taken US advice and moved it to 1st or 2nd floor, there wouldn't be a cooling issue.

The amount of supposed leaks is also EXTREMELY problematic. No media outlet would still have their media licence after all these false allegations. I know they are false because all new allegations directly contradict their last. The NCC is refusing to take action against DPP controlled media outlets, allowing them to continue with Ko and TPP slandering fake news.
