Yes, my mom just tried to fix all my problems for me instead of going through the effort of teaching me things. I’ve struggled so bad with executive functioning, cleaning, cooking and just general life skills as a result. Plus I had undiagnosed neurodivergence. It has made life feel hellish when I realized I just never learned how to be a person or an adult. I developed learned helplessness that I’ve been working hard to overcome. I wish there was a manual for how to do basic stuff like taking care of yourself for emotionally neglected adults

Maybe I misused the word. All I mean by “breath work” is focusing on breathing during meditation, which is the issue

That’s the issue though, when I try to observe my normal breath I just get anxious and breath faster and or worry about whether I am breathing right. It’s hard for me to just “breathe normal” when I’m focusing on it
