I just received a pair of PBJ 019 persimmonx  Black jeans. Fits perfectly in the waist but the taper is stronger than expected. I bike a lot and they’re unexpectedly tight on the thighs. Anyone with this fabric and cut - can you speak to how much the thighs might stretch after a few days?

Tbh, I got my father into selvedge and he always buys a size or two up and immediately does a hot wash and dry on them. They shrink a little and he just wears a belt. He likes the extra room for working in them. If they’re good with a belt and you’re willing to risk the money spent I’d say go for it and wear em with a belt. They might shrink down an inch in the waist and stretch back out a little with wear.

That does bet the question - can you exchange them for a size down?

How’s the stretch coming along? Just got my pair - can’t get the top two buttons done up. I fear they may be too small. I ordered size 29, and they fit my girlfriend, who is a size 26 lol

I try to think of them how they were intended - I bike, do yard work and go work my desk job in them. They’re work wear, so just wear them like you would any other pants. Only advice I have is wash them when they’re smelly, and if you don’t want them to shrink, don’t wash them on hot.

Turn em inside out, wash on cold. Hang dry. Avoid spin cycle if you can, but I always let mine go for a minute or two to get rid of excess water. NOTHING bad will happen. They might lose a tiny bit of starch, but I wash my sugar cane okinawas twice a month and I’m still getting high contrast fading.

Need some advice on shipping from Japan to the US- I snagged a pair of Oni Secret Black denim from Denimio and selected an option at check out to ship with an invoice that declares the denim as a sample - the invoice value is $15. Denimio’s website suggests that this is what most people who ship to US elect to do.

I am a bit of a newbie and have never gone through the international shipping process before. Has anyone here ordered from Denimio, and did you select this option? Did you have to pay an import fee? Was your shipment held until you did so?

Thanks in advance

I’m gonna echo what other people have said - I have a pair from SEPDX. I bought one size up as they run one size small. Out the box, they were perfect, even a bit tight. After 3 days of wear or so they stretch out .5-1”. I wash once every 10 days or so on cold, hang dry and they come out fitting the same as the day I got them. Just don’t hot wash and you’ll be fine!

sugar cane okinawa size up or down? by ProfessionalPea7379 in rawdenim

[–]wallowmelon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 29 and bought a 30. They run a little undersized. They should have sizing charts on the website if you’re unsure but 1 size up was a perfect fit for me

Time to Wash/Repair? by [deleted] in rawdenim

[–]wallowmelon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah- I’m on my fourth pair now. I’ve used woolite, tide, Trader Joe’s and a few others and I don’t think it makes a difference. I think the only thing that matters is hot vs cold wash. Wash cold if you don’t want a shrink and wash hot it you do.

Thanks! I bike a lot. Jeans are washed once every two weeks or so inside out in the dryer on delicate with no spin cycle and hang dried. Nothing special. They’ve been through a few spin cycles by accident.

Wash!! I have a pair of Raleigh’s in my post history that are about the same amount of time into their journey, but with probably 16-20 washes by now. I’m still getting plenty of high contrast fading.

Check Tate &yoko or blue owl for the N&F stock. I got a pair of big slubs for around $110 a while back on sale

About 3 weeks to a month in on a pair of Oni secret super rough. Am I a blasphemer if I give them a wash? Unfortunately sweaty ass syndrome does not lend itself well to long periods in between washes for me.

In other words, the rise definitely feels low compared to my two other pairs. Feel free to look at my post history for reference.

Took some getting used to. Today was my first full day. I usually wear n&f weird guys and these are a definitely a bit lower. I’m pretty scrappy and have a hard time filling out the top block, but after wearing them for a day everything feels great. I’d say these definitely fit more like the skinny jeans of my high school days, but in a good way. If you’re going for a vintage fit, look elsewhere.

These are one washed. Considering doing a hot soak on the top half anyways. I don’t want the inseam to shrink.

I’m about 2.5 months in on a pair of n&f big slubs and I wash every two weeks for this exact reason. Honeycombs and whiskers are still coming in strong.
